About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Jude. I am a BACP registered humanistic integrative counsellor. I offer confidential individual therapy in a safe, non-judgmental space where you'll be heard and accepted. You’ll have the freedom to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

Perhaps you are dealing with relationship difficulties, low mood or self-esteem. Maybe you want to process distressing life experiences, or simply need a place to offload and make sense of what is going on for you.

Whatever has brought you to counselling, whether it feels big or small, I offer a warm, safe space where you can explore what is happening for you. Together, we can look at what you might need to find a path through life that feels true to you.

I am a person-centred therapist, which means I value your autonomy, and believe you have the capacity to find your own way forward. I will support you to make your own choices and listen to you with acceptance, openness and without judgement.

I believe that having the space to share what is on your mind and in your heart can be the beginning of self acceptance and healing.

Over the years I have helped many people deal with day to day difficulties, process their emotions and find self-acceptance. Before my counsellor training, I was a wellbeing lead in a school and volunteered for a national bereavement service. Now, alongside my private practice, I support charities in York as a counsellor and mentor.

Practice description

I offer an integrative approach to support you. This means that as well as traditional talking therapy, we can draw on other therapeutic approaches, should you wish to explore different ways of working. These include experiential therapy, Gestalt and expressive arts therapy. Working creatively can provide opportunities to explore and express your feelings as well as gain insights that may sit outside your usual awareness.

At all times our work will be at your pace and led by you.

My clients have told me that therapy has helped them feel more confident, develop a greater understanding and awareness of themselves, and improve their relationships with others.
