Availability
I currently have availability for new clients and offer confidential, supportive and compassionate counselling online. I understand that finding a suitable time for counselling can sometimes be difficult, so I offer flexible appointment times wherever possible.
Online sessions provide a comfortable and convenient way to access counselling from a space where you feel safe and at ease. If you are considering counselling and would like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch. I’m happy to answer any questions and discuss how I may be able to support you.
About me and my therapy practice
As a psychodynamic counsellor, I offer a warm, confidential space to explore what is happening in your life, both now and in the context of your past experiences.
Psychodynamic counselling recognises that some difficulties may be connected to patterns of thinking, feeling, relating and behaving that have developed over time, sometimes outside our awareness. Together, we can gently explore these patterns and how they may influence your relationships, choices, emotions and sense of yourself.
Our work begins with what feels most important to you. I listen carefully to what you bring while noticing themes that emerge in our conversations. We may explore your relationships, significant experiences, recurring difficulties, emotional responses and ways of coping.
I offer sessions online by video, creating a private setting where you can feel heard, respected and able to speak at your own pace. Rather than offering quick answers or telling you what to do, I work alongside you to develop a deeper understanding of your experiences and the difficulties you may be facing.
The work may be short- or long-term, depending on your needs and what we decide together. We will shape its pace and focus collaboratively, allowing space for reflection and meaningful change.
At the heart of my work is the belief that being genuinely heard and understood can support greater self-awareness, emotional freedom and a stronger sense of choice.
Practice description
Coming to therapy can feel like a big step, particularly if you’re not quite sure where to begin. My aim is to offer you a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and able to talk openly about what’s going on for you.
I offer online psychodynamic therapy for adults who want to understand themselves more deeply, make sense of difficult feelings or relationships, or explore patterns that may be getting in the way of living the life they want.
Together, we can gently explore what you are experiencing now, as well as how earlier experiences may have shaped the way you see yourself, relate to others and respond to life. I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and help you notice patterns or feelings that may be difficult to recognise on your own.
I believe therapy should feel collaborative and at a pace that works for you. I won’t tell you what you should do or judge your choices. Instead, I will support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself and finding ways forward that feel meaningful and right for you.
You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong or have the right words before we begin. We can start simply with whatever has brought you here.
My first session
Starting therapy can feel daunting, so I want your first session to feel as comfortable and welcoming as possible.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin to understand what has brought you to therapy. You can talk about what has been happening for you, what you would like support with, and anything you hope might change through therapy.
I will ask some questions to help me understand your experiences and what you are looking for, but there is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to talk about. You can take your time, and you don’t need to have everything worked out beforehand.
We can also talk about how psychodynamic therapy works, what you can expect from our sessions, and any questions or concerns you may have. Most importantly, the first session is a chance for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me.
There is no right or wrong way to begin. Simply coming as you are is enough.
