About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor support to your individual needs and circumstances. I provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
I have experience supporting adults who have been affected by:
Sexual violence and rape
Childhood sexual abuse
Domestic abuse and coercive relationships
Addiction and substance misuse
Grief, bereavement, and loss
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and childhood trauma
Low self-esteem and confidence
Anxiety, depression, and emotional wellbeing difficulties
I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting. My aim is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life. Together, we can explore the impact of past experiences, develop coping strategies, and work towards greater emotional wellbeing and resilience.
I offer a warm, empathetic, and trauma-informed approach, recognising that every person's journey is unique.
Practice description
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel difficult, but you do not have to face life's challenges alone. I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about your experiences, emotions, and concerns.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. I believe that every person is unique, and together we can explore what has brought you to counselling and work towards meaningful and lasting change.
I have experience supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, including rape, sexual violence, childhood sexual abuse, domestic abuse, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). I also work with clients affected by addiction, grief and bereavement, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.
My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and collaborative. I understand that past experiences can have a significant impact on how we view ourselves, others, and the world around us. Through counselling, we can explore these experiences safely, helping you to gain insight, develop coping strategies, and move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I will work alongside you at your own pace, providing a confidential space where you feel heard, understood, and respected.
I offer evening appointments during the week and weekend appointments to make therapy more accessible around work, family, and other commitments.
Whether you are struggling with the impact of past trauma, coping with loss, navigating difficult relationships, or simply seeking support during a challenging time, I am here to help.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to counselling. I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting, so I aim to create a warm, safe, and non-judgemental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace.
During our initial session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking counselling, any current difficulties you may be experiencing, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We will also talk about your personal history, relevant life experiences, and any questions or concerns you may have about the counselling process.
This session allows us to consider whether we are the right fit to work together and to agree on goals that feel meaningful and achievable for you. I work collaboratively and will tailor our sessions to meet your individual needs.
Before beginning therapy, I will explain issues such as confidentiality, professional boundaries, and how counselling works. I may also ask you to complete a brief assessment or intake form to help me better understand your circumstances and ensure I can offer the most appropriate support.
There is no pressure to share everything in the first session. We will work at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you.
