About me and my therapy practice
Life can feel difficult at times, whether you’re living with anxiety or depression, feeling disconnected from yourself or others, or struggling to find a sense of direction. Perhaps you’re exploring how ADHD, autism or AuDHD affects your life, how childhood experiences continue to shape you today, or finding your way through grief, loss or significant life changes.
I’m a qualified person-centred counsellor, offering adults a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore what feels important to them, at their own pace. Together, we can work towards a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and your needs, helping you find a way forward that feels right for you.
I offer a warm, confidential and welcoming space where we can build a trusting relationship and explore what’s happening in your life, at your pace. Together, we can gently explore your patterns, attachment systems, needs and ways of coping, helping you understand yourself with greater compassion and recognise what may be holding you back. My hope is that, through our work together, you feel more connected to yourself and others, with a greater sense of understanding, choice and direction in your life.
Person-centred counselling offers an opportunity to explore the understanding that you are not broken and don’t need fixing. Instead, it’s a space where you can begin to reconnect with yourself and develop a sense of self and identity that feels more authentic to you.
Practice description
Choosing a counsellor is such a personal decision, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and able to be yourself. I believe a conversation is a gentle way for us to get to know one another and for you to get a sense of how I work. It gives you an opportunity to ask any questions and decided if we’re the right fit.
I work collaboratively, using a person-centred approach where you guide our sessions towards what feels important to you. Through attentive listening and gentle reflection, I support you to explore your experiences, develop a deeper understanding of yourself to help you find your own way forward, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
You’re welcome to arrange a free, no-obligation call at a time that suits you. It’s an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and explore whether working together feels right for you. I understand how daunting taking the first step into counselling can feel, so please use whichever method of contact you feel most comfortable with - that could be via email, text or WhatsApp. I will respond as soon as possible and there’s no pressure or obligation to take things further.
I’m a qualified person centred counsellor with training in ADHD and autism, with experience working with neurodivergent clients. Alongside private practice I volunteer within an NHS setting supporting clients with bereavement, cancer and health uncertainties and those caring for someone living with cancer. I also volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support, both assessing clients and supporting them through their grief and loss.
I’m a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework, with regular supervision to support safe, ethical and compassionate practice. I am fully insured, ICO registered and hold an enhanced DBS.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from counselling. You may have a clear idea of what you’d like to work towards, or you may not know just yet, and that’s absolutely okay. We can explore this together, at your pace, and allow the focus of our work to develop naturally.I often work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety or trauma connected to childhood, health uncertainty, relationships or family life. In our initial sessions, we’ll work together to explore what feels important to you, at your own pace, building a safe, supportive and genuine foundation for our work.
