About me and my therapy practice

I work in a warm, collaborative and relational way, recognising that every person’s experience is unique. My approach is informed by Gestalt therapy, which encourages greater awareness of ourselves, our relationships and the patterns that can shape our lives.

I believe that feeling safe, accepted and genuinely listened to is an important part of meaningful therapeutic work. I aim to provide a space where you can talk openly and explore whatever is troubling you without fear of judgement.

I recognise that trust takes time to build. Counselling is not about being pushed or pressured into talking about things before you are ready. We will work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you, allowing trust and understanding to develop naturally.

Together we can explore what is happening in your life, make sense of difficult experiences and develop greater awareness of thoughts, feelings and patterns that may be affecting you. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to support you in understanding yourself more fully and working towards changes that feel meaningful to you.

Practice description

I offer counselling for people who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected or unsure of where to turn. You may be struggling with difficult thoughts or feelings, going through a challenging period in your life, or simply recognising that something needs to change.

I have a particular interest in working with self-esteem, shame, relationship difficulties, loss and bereavement, men’s issues, addiction and recovery, anxiety, trauma and life transitions.

I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you are used to dealing with things on your own. My aim is to provide a genuine, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and talk openly about what is happening for you.

I offer sessions both online via Zoom and in person in Milton Keynes. Sessions are 50 minutes and are charged at £70.

Finding the right counsellor is important, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is an important part of effective counselling.

My first session

Before beginning counselling, I offer a free initial telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.

If we decide to work together, our first counselling session will be 50 minutes and charged at the usual fee of £70. The first session gives us more time to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you may be hoping for from therapy and anything that feels important for me to understand as we begin working together.

There is no expectation for you to share anything before you feel ready. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
