About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified neuro-affirming person centred counsellor with a special interest in IFS, and attachment theory.
When you have spent all of your life being told you are "too" sensitive, emotional, quiet, loud or difficult, emotions now feel like they are problems to fix or ignore in the hope they will go away but when the uncomfortable emotions aren't going away you can find yourself overwhelmed by the discomfort and significantly impact your day to day life, connections and self worth.
I work with adults experiencing low mood, anxiety, overwhelm and grief who are feeling disconnected from who they are.
You may be unsure of who you really are underneath who you have been for so long, or protecting yourself from being seen and trying to fit the labels you have been given and live up to the expectations of those around you.
I am here to work with you on managing the overwhelming emotions and reconnecting with yourself, learning to set boundaries and advocate for your own needs.
Therapy is a place to come back to yourself and understand the patterns that have shaped how you relate to people and yourself such as people pleasing and disconnecting from emotions.
I understand the complexities of being neurodivergent. I work with your individual needs including your sensory and processing preferences and I understand how OCD, ARFID, Alexithymia, Interoception and other conditions can impact on your daily life.
I also work with parents of SEND children who are overwhelmed and exhausted from advocating for their children against a system that is not fit for purpose. If you can feel you are struggling to cope please get in touch.
I have lived experience and a strong understanding of PDA and RSD as well as the dilemma of feeling dysregulated but needing to help your child regulate on a daily basis.
Through therapy with me you can learn to exist in the world feeling more comfortable in yourself, recognising and honouring your own needs.

My first session
If this resonates I would love your reach out for a free 20 minute introductory call. This provides a a no-pressure opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you may have on what working together might be like.
If you decided to go ahead I will email to you a shared counselling agreement to read through which will include a questionnaire for you to complete and email back to me before your first session.
In our first session you don't need to know exactly where to start or have a plan on what to say. Often sessions unfold organically as I invite you you to share what has brought you to therapy.
