About me and my therapy practice

I’m a qualified Psychosynthesis counsellor offering depth-oriented therapy for adults in Bristol and online.

Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent, highly sensitive women who have spent much of their lives feeling like they are “too much” in some ways and “not enough” in others. They are often deeply caring people who have become exhausted from trying to meet everybody else’s expectations or “fit in” while losing touch with themselves in the process.

You might seek therapy because you’re navigating relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, anger or overwhelming emotions; struggling with self-esteem, body image or a harsh inner critic; feeling burnt out and exhausted; or feeling trapped in a job or a life that doesn’t feel meaningful to you. You may also be going through grief, an ending, uncertainty or another major life transition.

My work is rooted in Psychosynthesis, alongside trauma-informed embodiment and body-based approaches, Jungian psychology and parts work. I believe that our emotions and difficulties are messengers, and that the things we struggle with often developed for very good reasons.

Rather than simply trying to “fix” symptoms, we can become curious about what lies beneath them and reconnect with your emotions, needs, desires, values and inner world. My aim is to support you in developing greater self-understanding, self-trust and agency, while making room for the complexity of being human.

I offer individual therapy online or in person in central Bristol. I offer a free initial conversation where we can explore what brings you to therapy, what support you are looking for, and whether working together feels like the right fit.

Practice description

I believe therapy can be both a place to tend to what hurts and a place to rediscover who you truly are.

I’m not a “blank canvas” type of therapist: I’m not going to stare at you blankly for an hour while you talk. I will actively engage with what you say, share my genuine reflections, gently challenge you when it feels helpful.

Together, we create a space where you can slow down and explore what is happening beneath the surface. We might explore your inner critic, inner child or other parts of yourself; become more aware of what is happening in your body; look at recurring patterns in your relationships; or explore dreams, symbols, myths and archetypes when these offer a meaningful way into your experience.

I work in a trauma-informed way, which means I will never demand that you retell or re-live an experience you don’t want to revisit. I will respect your agency and, if you become triggered, focus on helping you find grounding and safety.

I will hold unconditional empathy for all the parts of you, including the parts you might dislike or believe to be unworthy of love. We'll get curious about the patterns that are no longer serving you and explore different ways of being.

I also believe that the external circumstances we live in can seriously impact our mental health. I won’t gaslight you into believing all your difficulties are yours alone. Alongside understanding the wider context, I’ll support you in finding greater agency, self-trust and a deeper connection to yourself.

Things we might do together in a session:

- Meditations to connect to all the parts of yourself (mind, feelings, body, spirit)

- Parts work – exploring your inner child, inner critic and all the other parts living with you. We all have a crowded village within us.

- Compassionate listening: simply holding space when you just need someone to listen without judgement

- Somatic awareness and enquiry

- Shadow work, exploring archetypes, myths and stories in relation to your struggle.

- Guided visualisations

My first session

After a short free introductory call, if we decide we want to work together, I will invite you to a first session. Our first session is usually a "get to know each other" kind of session. I will ask you broader questions about your history, your life, work, relationships etc than I usually would, so I can get a good picture of you and have some knowledge of you before we dive deeper in following sessions.

You will also get an opportunity to ask me about me and how I work.

This first session allows us to get better acquainted with each other and set the ground up to approach topics with more depth in the sessions to come.
