About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Jody, a Level 5 Qualified Integrative Counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Alongside my counselling work, I’ve spent over twenty years in senior leadership, mentoring and training roles within a large international organisation, supporting people through change, difficult conversations and personal development.

Today, I combine that experience with professional counselling to offer a calm, collaborative and thoughtful approach.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I don’t believe one approach suits everyone. Every person is unique, which is why I adapt the way we work to suit your individual needs, experiences and goals.

I believe counselling works best when there’s a trusting relationship between counsellor and client. My role isn’t to tell you what to do or have all the answers. Instead, I’ll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and support you as we work together towards the changes you want to make.

Practice description

As an integrative Counsellor I believe one approach only is suitable for all clients. Due to this belief, I will adapt how I work to best suit the client. Some clients prefer a more directive approach and other clients prefer a none-directive way of working together. This will be discussed and is always client lead.

My first session

The first session typically consists of the client talking about what they would like support with, what they hope to get from therapy and any questions or concerns they may have. The initial assessment form acts as a backbone for the session and naturally forms conversation.

Practice description

As an integrative Counsellor I believe no one particular approach is suited to every client. Due to this belief, I will adapt the way I work depending on the client. This may take the form of Woking in a more directive manner or in a more none-directive approach. This will be discussed with the client and is fluid through my work.
