About me and my therapy practice
You may be keeping up with work and everyday life while feeling anxious, disconnected or hard on yourself. Perhaps you replay conversations, put other people's needs first, or find the same difficulties returning in relationships. Sometimes there is no clear explanation; you simply know that something does not feel right.
I'm Micky, an integrative psychotherapist and Registered Member of the BACP. I offer a space where you can speak openly about what is happening, including the parts you usually keep to yourself.
My approach brings together humanistic, psychodynamic and existential therapy. In everyday terms, this means taking your experience seriously, exploring how earlier relationships may shape what happens now, and considering your values, choices and sense of direction. We will decide together where it is useful to focus.
I will listen carefully, ask questions and share reflections. We might explore what happens when you feel criticised, why it is difficult to express a need, or how you respond when someone gets close. There is also room to consider the gap between understanding a pattern and feeling able to change it.
The relationship we build matters. You are welcome to tell me if I have misunderstood you, if something feels uncomfortable or if our work is not meeting your needs. These conversations can be part of the therapy.
You do not need to arrive with a clear explanation or know where to begin. We can start with what feels important today and work towards a fuller understanding of yourself and the changes you hope to make.
Practice description
I offer individual online psychotherapy for adults aged 18 and over. Our work can explore anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, relationship difficulties, self-criticism, identity, loss and life changes. I welcome people from different backgrounds, with space to consider how family, culture and expectations shape your experience.
I trained at Regent's University London, where I gained an MA and a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling, a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, and a Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling. My clinical training included working as a counsellor at the Psychosynthesis Trust.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP), work in accordance with its Ethical Framework and use professional supervision to support my practice.
Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £100. We usually meet weekly at an agreed time, and review how the work is feeling and whether it is helping. There is no fixed minimum course of therapy. Reduced fees for students can be discussed individually.
We agree a suitable video platform before starting. You will need a private space where you can talk freely and must be physically in the UK during each session. Please let me know about any access or communication needs so we can discuss suitable arrangements.
My first session
Before booking a therapy session, you are welcome to a free 15-minute introductory call. We can talk briefly about what has led you to get in touch, discuss how I work and consider whether we might be a good fit. You can ask questions, and there is no obligation to continue.
If we decide to arrange a first session, I will send you an intake form, client agreement and privacy information beforehand. These explain the practical arrangements, fees and confidentiality, including its limits.
Your first therapy session lasts 50 minutes and costs £100. We will explore what has brought you to therapy, how things are affecting your life and what you hope might feel different. We may also begin to consider relevant experiences and relationships, at a pace we discuss together.
You do not need to prepare your whole life story or decide in advance which issue is the most important. It is fine to feel unsure, to need time to find the words, or to begin with something that happened that week.
This is also an opportunity for you to get a feel for working with me. We can talk about what has or has not helped before, any concerns about therapy and what you need from the process. We will discuss possible next steps together, with room for you to reflect before deciding whether to continue.
