About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative counsellor, I work with 18 years + adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, stress, depression, low mood, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions, grief and loss, trauma, and challenges relating to identity and wellbeing.
Whether you are seeking online counselling, face-to-face therapy or wish to get outdoors for a walk-and-talk session, I endeavour to offer a compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgement.
Practice description
For many people, reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you have been managing things on your own for a long time.
Taking a step into counselling can be the beginning of something meaningful. Counselling offers a confidential space where you can pause, reflect, and talk openly about what you are experiencing. It can provide an opportunity to feel heard, understood and supported while exploring the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing.
I offer my clients a space to explore whatever is happening in their life at their pace. Counselling is a collaborative process where we can work together to understand difficulties and to help gain deeper insight into thoughts, emotions and patterns of behaviour.
My first session
As therapy can be a brave step to take, it is important that clients feel comfortable with the therapist which they choose.
I offer a free introductory 20min phone call, giving potential clients the opportunity to ask questions and briefly talk about what has brought them to counselling. This also allows both of us to see whether working together feels like the right fit.
If we decide to continue, we can arrange regular sessions and begin exploring what to focus on in therapy.
The first session is an opportunity for the client to settle into the space. We will go through our working agreement together so that we feel clear about boundaries, confidentiality, and what we can expect from our time together.
My therapy approach is integrative where I combine person-centred counselling with psychodynamic counselling. This means that I hold my client at the centre of the work while also recognising history that may have shaped experiences. I work collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for the client.
I aim to offer a compassionate and non-judgemental place where my client is felt heard, understood, and accepted while gently building resilience and self-trust within themself.
