Peace & Presence Counselling – A space to be heard, understood and find your way forward.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Farzana, a qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP.
Welcome to Peace & Presence Counselling.
I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted without judgement.
Life can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, lonely or uncertain. You may be struggling with relationships, family difficulties, bereavement, work-related stress, low confidence or simply feeling that you’ve lost your sense of direction. Sometimes, even when surrounded by people, we can feel completely alone.
My approach is humanistic and person-centred, drawing on Gestalt principles. This means I see you as a whole person, recognising your individual experiences, strengths and capacity for personal growth.
I believe that the answers we are searching for are often already within us. My role isn’t to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you, helping you explore your thoughts, understand your feelings and discover your own way forward.
I have experience counselling adults in community settings and supporting young people within secondary education. I also have experience working with neurodivergent individuals and recognise the importance of adapting my approach to each person’s needs.
Alongside counselling, I am a trained mediator and Mental Health First Aider, with additional experience in suicide prevention and safeguarding. These skills strengthen my ability to support people experiencing emotional distress, relationship difficulties and challenging life circumstances.
I offer culturally sensitive counselling and welcome clients from all backgrounds, faiths and beliefs. I speak English and Urdu and can also communicate in Hindi.
Above all, I aim to create a warm, compassionate and confidential environment where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting counselling. Sometimes being heard is the first step towards finding your way forward.
Practice description
Sessions are offered in a private therapy room, providing a comfortable and professional setting away from the distractions of everyday life. I am currently arranging suitable premises within the local area.
Online Counselling
Online sessions offer the convenience of accessing counselling from your own home or another private location. This can be particularly helpful if you have a busy schedule, caring responsibilities or difficulty travelling.
Telephone Counselling
Telephone appointments provide an alternative for those who prefer not to use video calls or feel more comfortable speaking without being seen.
