About me and my therapy practice
I experienced domestic abuse during my childhood, became a mother as a teenager, and faced significant health challenges as a young woman. These experiences shaped me deeply, but they also strengthened my determination to create a different life for myself and my family.
Before moving to Grange-over-Sands in 2022, I spent 15 years living and working in London, where I developed a career as a specialist sexual health and HIV nurse. Much of my work involved supporting people through vulnerable and challenging moments of their lives.
Although I had created a life I was proud of and work that I found meaningful, I began to feel that something was missing. I wanted to understand myself more fully and find a greater sense of meaning, purpose and connection.
Psychosynthesis gave me a language and a roadmap for exploring my inner world. It helped me understand the different parts of myself, recognise old patterns and develop greater awareness and agency. Most importantly, it helped me begin to reconnect with a deeper sense of Self.
What began as a personal journey eventually became a vocation. I feel deeply privileged to now accompany others on their own inward journeys, to explore what has shaped them, discover their inner resources and consider what might be possible beyond the patterns that have held them back.
Alongside my counselling and psychotherapy training, yoga and sound have also been important parts of my own journey. I discovered yoga in 2013 and trained as an Akhanda Yoga teacher in London in 2015. I am also a Gong Practitioner and offer yoga and sound healing sessions to small groups in Grange-over-Sands.
Practice description
Through my work as a counsellor, I have witnessed how meaningful change can begin when we have a safe space to slow down, be truly heard and explore what is happening beneath the surface. Therapy can help us move from feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected towards greater clarity, freedom and a stronger sense of ourselves.
I offer an empathic, honest and empowering space where you can explore your experiences without judgement. Together, we can begin to understand the patterns, needs and inner conflicts that may be shaping your life and relationships, while exploring the possibilities of creating a life that reflects your dreams, values and deeper sense of purpose.
My approach is rooted in Psychosynthesis, a psycho-spiritual approach that recognises the different aspects of who we are, while also holding our capacity for growth, choice and transformation. I work with people experiencing relationship difficulties, grief and loss, life transitions, low motivation, questions of purpose, or simply a sense that something needs to change but they are not sure how to move forward.
I will meet you where you are and support you in developing a deeper and more compassionate relationship with yourself. As our work unfolds, you may begin to recognise your inner resources, make more conscious choices and reconnect with a sense of meaning, possibility and direction.
I am a Psychosynthesis Counsellor, MBACP, with a Master’s degree in Psychosynthesis Psychology. I am currently training as a psychotherapist and am a trainee member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
My first session
I offer a free introductory session, which gives us an opportunity to meet and helps you feel at ease before deciding whether to begin therapy. You can ask any questions you may have and talk about what has brought you to seek support.
We can explore what you are hoping for from therapy and whether we feel we would be a good fit to work together. There is no obligation to continue, and you can take some time to decide whether you would like to book a further session.
If you decide to continue, sessions are held weekly and last one hour. We will agree on a day and time that works for both of us. Typically, we meet on the same day and at the same time each week, although some flexibility may be possible where needed.
Sessions are £50 per week. A limited number of concessionary spaces may be available, so please feel free to enquire if cost is a concern.
Payment is required weekly and in advance of each session. If you need to cancel or change an appointment, I ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
