Availability
I currently have availability for new clients and offer both face-to-face sessions from my counselling room in Eaton Socon, St Neots, and online sessions across the UK.
I offer daytime appointments, with some alternate evening and weekend availability for those who may find it difficult to attend during usual working hours.
Sessions are 50 minutes and are usually held weekly. I also offer a free 15-minute introductory call if you would like to have a chat before deciding whether to book. This is a chance to ask any questions, tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling and get a sense of whether I might be the right counsellor for you.
If you'd like to enquire about my current availability, you're very welcome to get in touch.
About me and my therapy practice
You might be considering counselling because something specific has happened, or you might simply know that you’re not feeling like yourself anymore. Maybe you’ve spent a long time being the person who copes, looks after everyone else or says “I’m fine” when underneath, things feel very different.
Whatever brings you to counselling, you don’t need to arrive with a perfectly organised story. You don’t even need to know what to say. That’s something we can figure out together.
I’m an Integrative Counsellor with a Person-Centred foundation, but more importantly, I’m a real person sitting opposite you. I don’t want therapy to feel cold, clinical or like you’re being analysed. I’m warm, down-to-earth and genuinely curious about the person behind the experiences you bring.
There may be sessions where you have lots to say and others where you have no idea where to start. There can be tears, silence, frustration and, when it naturally arises, laughter too. I’m comfortable with all of it.
I don’t believe one way of working suits everyone. We might explore experiences from your past, notice patterns showing up in the present, or simply stay with what is happening for you right now. I can also bring in grounding, psychoeducation, mindfulness or creative approaches if they feel useful to you. There’s no pressure to work in a particular way.
I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, difficult relationships, bereavement, low self-esteem and times when life simply feels overwhelming. You may have spent years carrying something alone, or you may not yet understand why you feel the way you do.
I won’t tell you what you should do or pretend to have all the answers. What I can offer is a relationship where you are listened to, taken seriously and accepted as you are, while together we begin to understand what’s going on beneath the surface.
I offer 50-minute sessions face-to-face in Eaton Socon, St Neots, and online.
Practice description
I offer individual counselling for adults from my private counselling room in Eaton Socon, St Neots, as well as online sessions across the UK.
My face-to-face practice is based in a comfortable, private garden room at my home, with its own entrance. I’ve created a space that feels warm, relaxed and welcoming rather than clinical – somewhere you can hopefully begin to feel at ease from the moment you arrive.
Sessions are 50 minutes and usually take place weekly. I offer both short and longer-term counselling depending on what you need; there is no predetermined number of sessions or expectation that you should have everything figured out within a certain timeframe.
Counselling with me is collaborative. I won’t arrive with an agenda for what we “should” talk about that week. Some sessions might focus on something happening in your life right now, while at other times we may find ourselves exploring earlier experiences, relationships or patterns that are beginning to make more sense.
And therapy doesn’t always have to involve sitting and talking for 50 minutes. Sometimes words are exactly what we need; at other times, creative work, visual ways of exploring something, grounding or simply slowing things down can help us access something that feels difficult to put into words. We’ll find what works for you.
Online sessions offer the same individual approach and can be a good option if you live further away, have a busy life or simply feel more comfortable talking from your own space.
However we work together, I want you to feel able to tell me if something isn’t working for you. This is your therapy, and your experience of it matters.
My first session
Before booking your first session, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. This isn’t an assessment and there’s no pressure to commit to counselling afterwards. It’s simply a chance for us to have a brief chat about what has brought you to counselling, for you to ask me any questions and, importantly, to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable talking to me.
If you decide you’d like to go ahead, I’ll send you my counselling agreement and a short intake form before we meet.
Your first counselling session is 50 minutes and charged at my usual session rate. Although there are a few practical things we need to cover, I don’t want the first session to feel like an interview or like you have to tell me your entire life story in 50 minutes.
We’ll talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you might like support with, but we’ll go at a pace that feels manageable for you. You are always in control of what you choose to share.
Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to talk about. Others sit down and say, “I honestly don’t know where to start.” Both are completely okay. You don’t need to prepare anything, rehearse what you’re going to say or worry about filling silences. Part of my role is to help us find our way into the conversation together.
For me, the first session is also about beginning to get to know each other. Therapy is a relationship, and feeling that you can be yourself with your counsellor is an important part of the work.
