About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Charanjeet, an Integrative Psychotherapist and the person behind Daya Therapy. I offer an online space where you can bring what’s on your mind, including things that feel difficult to explain or that you haven’t felt able to share elsewhere.
Daya means compassion in Panjabi. The name is inspired by the Sikh ethos, where compassion is a guiding value in how we live, understand ourselves and respond to the world. For me, this means understanding your experiences without judgement, meeting you where you are and supporting you to meet yourself with greater understanding and kindness.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, finding relationships difficult or noticing that past experiences continue to affect you. Perhaps something doesn’t feel quite right, but you’re unsure how to explain it. You may be coming with something else entirely. Whatever brings you, you don’t need to have everything figured out. We can find a way into the conversation together.
For me, therapy begins with the relationship we build. I take time to get to know you and understand your experiences from your perspective, meeting you with warmth, empathy and curiosity. You don’t need to make your experiences sound a certain way to be taken seriously. Your voice matters, including telling me what feels helpful and what needs to be different. What we explore will depend on what feels important to you and our focus can develop as we work together.
My integrative approach is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I bring these perspectives together, alongside elements of other approaches where helpful, to shape our work around you.
If you’d like to explore working together, I offer a free 20-minute consultation. This is a chance to meet online, briefly talk about what brings you to therapy and ask any questions, with no obligation to book a session.
There is room here for every part of who you are.
