About me and my therapy practice
I offer flexible, responsive and holistic counselling, in person in Rugby, Coventry and Kenilworth, or online. I work with clients on both a short-term and long-term basis.
I am an integrative therapist with a master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I draw on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a person-centred approach and attachment theory to tailor our work to your needs.
I offer a free 20-minute telephone or online (Google Meet) conversation, to discuss what you’re looking for and whether working together feels right for you. Sessions thereafter cost £60 and last 60 minutes.
Before qualifying as a counsellor, I gained professional experience supporting individuals accessing acute mental health services, vulnerable adults with insecure housing status, and students and graduates seeking to develop and incorporate their faith into everyday life.
Practice description
Warm – I offer a supportive therapeutic relationship where you can explore your emotions, thoughts, bodily sensations and behaviours. Together, we can make sense of your experiences and explore how this understanding might help you move forward in ways that matter to you.
Holistic – Context matters. Many connected factors, both within you and in the world around you, shape your experiences. You are more than any one of these. Together, we can explore how they interact and where there may be opportunities for change.
Flexible – I invite you to share any needs or preferences you have. Together, we can consider adjustments to make counselling more accessible and help you get the most from our work.
Responsive and collaborative – Your priorities and pace will guide our work. I will bring my presence, experience and expertise to support you through the process. We will regularly review how you are finding counselling, what is helping and what might need to change.
Safe and secure – Confidentiality is central to creating a space where you can be vulnerable and honest. I will clearly explain how confidentiality works, including its limits, and we can revisit any questions or concerns throughout our work.
Integrative – I thoughtfully combine modalities to tailor support to you and what you bring on the day. My aim is to help you find relief from current difficulties, while supporting deeper understanding and lasting change.
My first session
In our first full session, we will agree how we will work together and set this out in our counselling agreement. This will include discussing confidentiality and its limits, with space for any questions you have.
We will explore what has brought you to counselling, what feels most important to you and what you would like us to work towards together. I will also ask about your history and experiences to understand the wider context of your life and anything you would like me to keep in mind. We will take this at your pace.
We will also talk about your safety and wellbeing, and consider whether any additional support or resources might be helpful.
