About me and my therapy practice
I combine techniques, theories, and insights from a variety of therapy models to best meet your needs, rather than adhering rigidly to one school of thought.
Here are the key benefits of this approach:
1. Tailored to You
I can adapt interventions to your personality, background, and presenting issues.
2. Holistic Understanding of you as a person
I work with you as a whole person —your emotional, thinking, behavioural, relational, and sometimes spiritual dimensions.
It means we can explore your past experiences and present coping strategies
This balance can help you to gain self-awareness while also building practical tools for change.
3. Flexibility and Responsiveness
I use an evidence-based change model and can adjust methods as your therapy progresses, depending on your changing needs or challenges.
For example, we may use mindfulness grounding and thinking models for anxiety, before exploring where your anxiety may come from and the impact of this on past and current relationships
4. Our Therapeutic Relationship
Our therapeutic relationship is central to healing. I provide a compassionate, trusting and safe environment for you to explore your concerns and issues. We will work as partners but always at your pace
5. Cultural and Contextual Sensitivity
I am culturally inclusive, embracing perspectives and values central to your cultural background.
6. Encourages Growth and Autonomy
I will work with you to help you learn not just to manage your symptoms but to understand them more deeply.
With this new insight integrative therapy supports the next stage of behavioural change, empowering you to take ownership of your own healing process.
7. Evidence-Informed Practice
As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I follow a professional framework to ensure you receive the best possible service.
