About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Faye, a qualified counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I believe that feeling genuinely heard, understood and accepted can be the beginning of meaningful change.
I have a particular interest in supporting people experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, difficulties with self-esteem and questions around identity. You might find yourself constantly worrying, putting others' needs before your own, questioning your worth or feeling uncertain about who you are and what you want from life.
I work relationally, which means that the relationship we develop together is central to the counselling process. For me, counselling is not simply about techniques or finding solutions. It is about creating a trusting, genuine connection where you feel safe enough to explore your experiences, including the parts that might be difficult to share elsewhere.
My approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in curiosity and compassion. I believe our relationships, experiences and environments shape how we understand ourselves and the world around us. Together, we can explore these influences, recognise patterns and develop a deeper understanding of what matters to you.
I work at your pace, respecting your individuality and recognising that everyone's experience is different. My role is not to direct your decisions, but to support you in finding your own understanding, confidence and sense of direction.
Alongside my counselling qualification, I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology with Counselling, which informs my understanding of emotional wellbeing, development and relationships.
I offer counselling for adults and young people, with face-to-face appointments in Wellington, Somerset, and online sessions across the UK.
If you're considering counselling, you're very welcome to get in touch to discuss what you're looking for and whether working together might feel right for you.
My first session
**Free 15-minute introductory call**
I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute telephone call before booking your first counselling session.
This is an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves, briefly discuss what has brought you to counselling and explore what you're hoping for from our work together. You're welcome to ask questions about my approach, how sessions work or anything else you might be wondering about.
There is no expectation to book a session afterwards. I believe that finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with is important, and this initial conversation gives us both an opportunity to consider whether working together feels right.
**Your first counselling session**
Our first full session lasts 60 minutes and is charged at my usual session rate.
During this appointment, we'll spend some time getting to know one another, exploring your current circumstances and discussing what you'd like from counselling. I'll also explain confidentiality, our counselling agreement and how we will work together.
We'll take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you, with space for any questions or concerns you may have.
