About me and my therapy practice

I’m based near Buxton in Derbyshire. Whether you’re looking for online or face to face counselling I offer a calm, safe and confidential space. Together we can explore any challenges you may be facing at a pace that works for you.

So many of us find ourselves stuck or overwhelmed by life. This feeling may have been building for a while or have caught you by surprise. Whatever your experience, the talking therapy I offer gives you time to focus solely on you. It’s a place where it’s safe to dig into any challenges you may be facing and explore ways to feel better and move forward.

Practice description

My approach is underpinned by my training in talking therapy. Together we’ll build an understanding of your view of the world and identify what you want to focus on. We’ll explore and experiment, carefully looking for strategies that will help and support you in managing the challenges you face day to day. This may include working out how your everyday experiences turn up in your body’s responses and identifying techniques for managing this in a way that works for you.

Although the sort of talking therapy I offer is a great place to start for a range of challenges, my areas of particular focus are workplace burnout, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and bereavement.

As a member of the BACP, as well as working to their ethical standards, I am committed to continuous learning and development.

My first session

If you get in touch I will get back to you within 2 working days to arrange a time to talk. Our first conversation will be a free 20 minute telephone call. If, after this, you want to go ahead with some sessions we’ll book in the first one and go from there.

Sessions are 50 minutes to an hour long. There are no set number of sessions and we will agree whether we meet weekly or less frequently. We will have regular reviews as we go to check the counselling process is still meeting your needs.
