About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome, I’m Amber, a person-centred counsellor based in Eastbourne. I understand that when finding the right counsellor for you, the process may seem daunting and overwhelming. Whether therapy is completely new to you or if you’re starting the process again, I will create a warm, empathetic, and safe space, so you don’t have to go through this alone.

You may feel stuck, anxious, overwhelmed or troubled by something in particular. Whatever your circumstances are that led you to seek support, I will work with you collaboratively and with patience, curiosity and no judgement. I am passionate about working with you to explore, navigate and understand your difficulties. I will do this by listening and empathising to ensure you feel heard and validated in your experience. My aim is for you to work towards living a fulfilled and empowered life, however that personally looks for you.

Practice description

As a Person-Centred counsellor, my approach is client-led, giving you the autonomy to take ownership of your sessions. I believe you are the expert on your own life and will therefore facilitate a space to understand your experience. By creating a space that’s rooted in respect, empathy, autonomy and warmth, you will be empowered to understand your experiences and trust yourself. As a relational counsellor, I feel collaboration in the therapy space is an important part of the healing process. I will create a therapeutic relationship with you, built on trust, safety and transparency. I encourage authenticity and exemplify this by bringing myself into the therapy room.

As a counsellor who works with children and young people (11+), I provide a nurturing and empathetic environment that encourages my client to express themselves freely. I tailor my approach to suit the individual needs and maturity of each client. Some young clients may find talking therapy a barrier to expressing themselves, so they may find creative options more accessible. However, some young clients also prefer talking therapy, and I trust in their autonomy to choose what works best for them.

My first session

I offer a 15-minute introductory phone call, where we can chat through how I work, what brings you to therapy and whether it feels like the right fit for you. My session fee is £50, and sessions are 50 minutes long.
