About me and my therapy practice
I am a humanistic counsellor working with adults in Lewes, Brighton and online.
Welcome. It can be an overwhelming experience looking for a therapist – I have been where you are. I provide a warm, relational and non-judgmental space for you, where we can explore whatever concerns you would like to bring to counselling.
You might want to work with me because you are struggling with a particular issue, relationship, friendship or family dynamic.
You may feel stuck or feel life hasn’t turned out the way you expected it to.
You may feel a persistent sense of anxiety or dread and aren’t sure where exactly it comes from.
You might feel disconnected from a part of yourself or your body, and not know how to start feeling reconnected.
I aim to work closely with the body as I have experienced personally and found in the theory that the body holds so much valuable information, if we can just tune into it. If appropriate, I find that working creatively, whether through dreams, pictures, drawings and focussing can be valuable. I work relationally, believing that transformation and healing can be found in relationship with another. I aim to walk alongside you as we explore your inner world and past experiences, making meanings along the way.
I have worked in Wellbeing and Mental Health in the NHS for the last 5 years, so I bring an intimate knowledge of the way the wider system works and how to enable that you feel supported by a wider team, if necessary. I also have a background in nutrition which has informed how I work in connection with the body.
Practice description
I work in person both in Brighton and Lewes, or online or by telephone.
The rooms in both Brighton and Lewes can be easily accessed by train, bus or car. I am happy to provide more details if that would help you to feel more comfortable in attending face to face.
My first session
In the first session, we will discuss what is bringing you to counselling, right now.
