Availability
I am currently welcoming new clients and offer both face-to-face counselling in Eastbourne and online sessions throughout the UK.
I understand that finding time for yourself isn't always easy, particularly when juggling work, family and other commitments. I therefore aim to be as flexible as possible, offering daytime appointments alongside some early morning and evening sessions.
Face-to-face appointments are available at the Natural Fitness & Therapy Centre at Splash Point, in a beautiful location overlooking Eastbourne's seafront.
Online counselling is also available if you prefer to attend from the comfort of your own home.
I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation before booking, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and see whether counselling with me feels right for you.
Please get in touch to discuss my current availability and find a time that works for you.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Kelly, a qualified person-centred counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 20 years working within the NHS, supporting people from all walks of life. My background in healthcare has given me a deep appreciation of the importance of compassion, empathy and genuinely listening to others.
I have gained valuable experience working with Change Grow Live, an addiction support service, where I continue to volunteer as a counsellor.
Through my counselling work, I have supported people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and significant life changes.
My approach is primarily person-centred, meaning I believe that you are the expert in your own life. I don't see my role as telling you what to do or providing all the answers. Instead, I offer a safe, accepting and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences, feelings and concerns openly.
I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is at the heart of meaningful change. I aim to be warm, approachable and genuine, creating an environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
Whether you're struggling with something specific, feeling overwhelmed or simply sensing that something in your life needs to change, we can work together to develop greater self-awareness, explore unhelpful patterns and help you find your own way forward.
Above all, I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood and accepted.
Practice description
At Coast Therapy, I offer a welcoming, confidential and supportive space where you can take time for yourself, away from the pressures and expectations of everyday life.
I provide individual counselling face-to-face in Eastbourne, including at the Natural Fitness & Therapy Centre at Splash Point, right beside the seafront alongside online counselling throughout the UK.
My sessions are led by you and what feels important in your life. Some people come to counselling knowing exactly what they want to explore, while others may feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck or unsure why they're struggling. You don't need to have everything figured out before getting in touch.
I support people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, grief, workplace stress, relationship difficulties, people-pleasing, low confidence and challenges with self-worth.
I understand how difficult it can be to prioritise your own needs, particularly if you've spent years looking after everyone else. Counselling offers an opportunity to focus on yourself, explore your experiences and begin to understand what you need.
Sessions are £60 for 50 minutes and can be arranged on a short-term or longer-term basis, depending on your circumstances and goals.
I aim to offer flexible appointments, including some early mornings and evenings, to help make counselling accessible around your commitments.
My hope is that you leave our sessions feeling listened to, supported and increasingly confident in yourself and the choices you make.
My first session
I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, particularly if it's something you've never done before. My aim is to make those first steps as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
Before booking your first session, I offer a free 20-30 minute telephone consultation. This is an opportunity for us to have an informal chat about what has brought you to counselling, what you're hoping to gain and whether you feel I might be the right counsellor for you.
You can also ask any questions about how I work, and there's absolutely no obligation to book afterwards.
If you decide to go ahead, our first full session will be an opportunity to get to know each other a little better. I'll complete an initial assessment to understand your circumstances, any difficulties you're experiencing and what you might like to work towards.
We'll also discuss confidentiality, boundaries and our counselling agreement, so you have a clear understanding of how we'll work together.
You don't need to prepare anything or worry about knowing what to say. Some people find it easy to talk straight away, while others need time to feel comfortable. Both are absolutely fine.
There's no expectation to share anything you're not ready to discuss. We'll take things at your pace, and you can bring whatever feels important to you.
Your first full session is £60 for 50 minutes, the same as subsequent sessions.
Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable, respected and reassured that this is your space, and your counselling journey will be guided by you.
