About me and my therapy practice

Hi, you have taken the first step, which takes real courage.

Perhaps you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply not quite yourself and are not sure why. You do not have to arrive with answers or have everything figured out before we speak. Just bring yourself as you are.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a wide range of therapeutic approaches, choosing whatever best fits you, whether that means exploring the roots of how you feel, finding practical ways to move forward, or simply having a space to be heard.

My practice is grounded in Person-Centred therapy. Where appropriate, I also draw on Psychodynamic, Solution-Focused, and Relational approaches to help explore your experiences and how they may be shaping how you feel today. I provide a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions at your own pace and without judgment.

I offer both short-term therapy for a specific current challenge and open-ended therapy for longer-term exploration and growth.

To help you decide if we would work well together, I offer a free 15-20-minute initial consultation with no obligation.

Practice description

My path to counselling brings a broad range of experience. Thirty years working across corporate and public sector environments in consultancy and permanent IT roles, two and a half years supporting teenagers in schools, and a year working with older adults through loneliness and life changes.

I understand workplace pressure, burnout, organisational dynamics, career shifts, work-life balance issues, and the particular kind of stress that comes from wanting to feel seen and valued.

My experience also includes over 200 supervised hours working with adults across NHS Talking Therapies and an online counselling platform, delivering therapy both online and face-to-face. I support clients through a wide range of emotional difficulties, including anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, cultural pressures, and major life transitions.

All of this, alongside a deep curiosity about what helps people thrive, brought me into counselling and shapes how I listen and show up in our sessions.

Whatever brings you to therapy, you will meet a non-judgmental, collaborative environment. We work through things in a way that meets your unique needs. You deserve to be heard, seen, and valued, and that is what I aim to offer in our work together.

My first session

Finding a counsellor who feels like the right fit for you is essential. Building a strong, trusting therapeutic rapport is key to feeling safe and getting the most out of your therapy journey. To help you decide if we would work well together, I offer a free, initial 15-20 minute phone or video consultation.

During this conversation we will briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, talk through how online sessions work and answer any practical questions you may have. There is no pressure or obligation to proceed.

If you decide to move forward, sessions are 50 minutes long and take place weekly at an agreed day and time. Before our first full session I will send you a client agreement to read through. We will go through this together at the start of our first session, covering how we work, confidentiality and its limits, and anything you would like to clarify.

Our first session is a space to explore what has brought you to therapy, what you are hoping to get from it and anything that feels important for me to understand about you. There is no fixed agenda. Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to talk about, others are not sure yet. Both are completely fine.
