About me and my therapy practice
I’m an Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, drawing on different therapeutic approaches so that I can respond to you as an individual. My practice is rooted in the belief that healing begins with a deeper connection to our inner worlds, whilst recognising how our identities, relationships, experiences and the wider world shape us.
Ije (Ijeoma) means 'safe journey', and this meaning sits at the heart of my practice. I believe everyone holds the potential for growth, and see my role as walking alongside you as you reconnect with your own inner wisdom, with space for honest reflection, gentle challenge and creativity along the way. You can bring your messy parts and come as you are.
I welcome people from all walks of life, including people from the LGBTQIA+ community, people of colour, neurodivergent people, musicians, creatives and anyone who has ever felt a little out of place. You might be navigating anxiety, life transitions, bereavement, trauma, relationship difficulties, questions of identity and belonging, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. Whatever brings you to therapy, I offer a warm, supportive space to explore your experiences, recognise your strengths and consider what meaningful change might look like for you, at your own pace.
Practice description
I take a relational approach to therapy, valuing your authentic reflections and seeing our work as a collaborative process. I also offer gentle challenge, where potentially helpful and welcome your messy and unsure parts too. I’m also drawn to the creative and symbolic aspects of our inner worlds, and enjoy working with dreams, images, music and the unconscious as ways of exploring experiences that may be difficult to put into words.
I offer weekly 50-minute sessions. We can explore together whether short-term or longer-term, open-ended therapy feels right for you. Whichever you choose, we’ll regularly review our work to stay mindful of the changes you hope to make, whilst allowing enough space for things to unfold organically and at a pace that feels right for you.
I have particular experience in mental health services, education and creative industries, working with neurodivergent people, people in the LGBTQIA+ community, creatives and young adults 18+.
I work in Brighton / Hove, South-West London (Clapham) and online, all depending on availability.
I offer a limited number of concessionary rates. Please enquire if relevant to you.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation, either over the phone or via video (which I prefer, as it allows us to meet face-to-face).
This is an opportunity for me to share a little about how I work and for you to talk about what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life. It also gives us a chance to get a sense of one another and consider whether working together feels like the right fit at this time.
