About me and my therapy practice

Counselling in Sheffield (Nether Edge S7) for anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties and work stress — including bullying at work, complaints and workplace grievances. I offer in-person and online counselling for adults and couples.

I’m Hazel Hill, a Senior Accredited counsellor and supervisor with over 25 years’ experience. My approach is relational, reflective and straightforward. We start by understanding what’s happening and what you want to be different, then agree clear aims and try strategies that fit you. We review what helps so change is steady and sustainable.

People often come to see me when they feel stuck — overthinking, flatness, emotional overwhelm, confidence taking a knock, or a sense that things have become unmanageable at home or at work. Sometimes the issue is clearly workplace-related: chronic pressure, burnout, difficult colleagues, bullying, or the stress of raising a complaint or being involved in a grievance process. Therapy can help you steady yourself, make sense of what’s happening, and decide your next steps with more clarity and self-trust.

I’ve worked with people from many backgrounds, including professionals, charity workers, international aid workers and refugees. My trauma-informed experience includes work with Syrian refugees at the Refugee Council and earlier humanitarian roles.

Sessions are in a quiet room in Nether Edge, close to Ecclesall Road and London Road, with free on-site parking and secure bicycle storage. I’m approved by BUPA, AXA and Aviva.

If you’re thinking about starting counselling, you’re welcome to get in touch with a brief outline of what you’d like help with and whether you’re looking for in-person or online sessions.

About me and my therapy practice

I work with couples who care about each other, but feel worn down by the same rows, silences or misunderstandings. You might be dealing with conflict, disconnection, resentment, jealousy, trust issues, different expectations around intimacy, parenting pressures, work stress spilling into the relationship, or a major change such as loss, illness, relocation or retirement. Sometimes couples come because something has happened that needs repairing. Sometimes it is the slow drift apart that finally feels too much.

I am a NCPS Senior Accredited counsellor and supervisor with over 25 years of experience. My style is compassionate, grounded and direct. We slow things down so each of you can be heard properly, make sense of what keeps happening between you, and find practical ways to respond differently. We set clear goals and keep reviewing progress, so sessions feel purposeful, not endless.

I have worked with people from many backgrounds, including professionals, charity workers, international aid workers and refugees, and I bring particular sensitivity to the impact of trauma and chronic stress on relationships.

Sessions are face to face in Nether Edge, Sheffield, around a ten minute walk from the city centre, with free on site parking and secure bike storage. I am approved by BUPA, AXA and Aviva. If you would like to ask a question or arrange an initial appointment, please get in touch.
