About me and my therapy practice
Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.
Practice description
My approach to therapy is an Integrative one. This is a non-judgmental way of working, where the counsellor creates the right conditions to help someone increase their self-awareness; to move towards - and reach - their fullest potential.
Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.

My first session
My aim for the first session is to create a safe, non-judgemental space where we can explore what has brought you to counselling. This initial session is a crucial step for both of us to decide if we are the right fit to work together.
What to Expect
Initial Assessment & Exploration: While this session is fully confidential, it serves as a gentle, mutual assessment. I will invite you to share more about your current challenges, your personal history (as relevant), and what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no formal written assessment required from you.
Understanding the Process: I will clearly outline the counselling agreement, discussing important factors like confidentiality, our boundary policy, cancellations, and my commitment to the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice. This is a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about the process or about me.
Goal Setting: We will collaboratively identify some initial, realistic goals or areas of focus for our work together.
Session Details
Duration: The first session lasts 60 minutes, the same duration as all subsequent sessions.
Next Steps: By the end of this session, you will feel clearer about the path ahead. We can then discuss scheduling regular sessions or you are welcome to take some time to reflect before committing further.
My commitment is to make your first step into therapy as comfortable and constructive as possible. I look forward to meeting you.
