About me and my therapy practice
Admitting that we might need a counsellor can seem daunting. However, there are times when it helps to have someone to talk to outside of our immediate circle as we endeavour to make sense of thoughts, feelings and/or circumstances that may be causing distress. As a counsellor and psychotherapist I will listen to you carefully to discern the key areas of concern, and work with you to enable understanding and consider with you ways to bring about change.
Initially I trained as a registered nurse and specialised in intensive care and then became a relief Ward Sister at the Royal London Hospital. During this time I observed that a great deal of attention was paid to healing the body but very little attention was paid to healing the mind following very traumatic experiences. This sparked my interest in psychology and talking therapies.
I currently work as a professional counsellor in private practice and previously in an NHS funded agency.
I am committed to continued personal and professional development through regular supervision and additional training.
