Practice description

Therapy with me  ...

After listening intensely of course, and doing my utmost best to understand your difficulty. I will then offer you tools, techniques and strategies for you to take forward, and to practice between sessions. If that's appropriate in your case of course.  Ultimately this enables you to overcome your problems yourself, in an on-going way.

We can then plot your progress and adjust the therapy accordingly, if it seems necessary?

This method effectively teaches you how to become your own Therapist so that you no longer need me.

Ethically that works for me too!

Rather than you becoming totally reliant on me.

My first session

Our first session is about me forming a relationship with you.

One that you can feel comfortable and safe in.

Breaking down the ice quickly is my main priority in this first session. So that you can quickly feel relaxed in my company.

I will then ask you at the end of this session if you feel safe and comfortable in my company.

A counselling relationship is an intimate one and you must feel comfortable in this relationship for it to thrive.
