I offer therapy in person at my practice near King’s Cross station, London, and online during the following hours:

- Mondays: 5pm–9pm

- Tuesdays: 9am–8.30pm

I may also have flexibility for online sessions during the day on other weekdays, or for occasional one-off online sessions on Saturdays. Please get in touch to discuss availability.

I usually take planned breaks of two weeks over Christmas and New Year, one week around Easter, and three weeks in August. We will discuss these breaks in advance to help us plan our work together.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 25 years’ experience in counselling and psychotherapy. I offer a warm, collaborative space to explore your concerns, understand your experiences and work towards meaningful change.

My approach is flexible and pluralistic: I adapt therapy to you, rather than expecting you to fit a particular therapeutic model. Drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused and systemic therapies, alongside EMDR, I tailor our work to your personality, needs and preferences. I value your strengths and talents as much as understanding your difficulties.

In my clinical experience, EMDR can help some people move forward when talking alone has felt slow or difficult. It can support connections between past experiences and present responses, helping you understand how you have been shaped by events and develop a greater sense of choice. We would explore its suitability together and work at a pace that feels manageable.

I have been involved in psychology since 1995, practising since 2000 and qualified as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist in 2004. I hold a PhD in Refugee Care and supervise counsellors, psychotherapists and counselling psychologists. My experience also includes an academic role on a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at a London university.

My work spans the NHS, schools, youth centres, charities and private practice. I have supported people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, including working with interpreters.

I work with adults, children, young people, couples and families, supporting concerns including anxiety, depression, obsessions and compulsions, trauma, bereavement, addictions and relationships. My starting point is to understand you as a whole person within the context of your life, beyond diagnostic labels.

Practice description

When working in person at the London Art Therapy practice, I can bring art materials and creative, play-based exploration into our therapeutic work. These offer valuable possibilities for adults and young people alike, providing space to express experiences that may be difficult to put into words.

Creative work is also possible online. If you have access to paper and pencils, pens or other materials, we can explore ways of using these within our sessions.

You do not need artistic skills or a clear idea of what you want to communicate. Working creatively can help thoughts and feelings emerge without the pressure to explain yourself, find the “right” words or make immediate sense of your experience.

In my clinical work, I have found creative approaches particularly helpful for people living with complex trauma, whose experiences may be felt deeply but remain difficult to identify or describe. Where appropriate, I draw on creative materials alongside EMDR to support the expression and processing of difficult emotions and memories, with careful attention to your readiness and pace.

Together, we can explore what emerges with curiosity and compassion, supporting deeper self-awareness, greater empathy towards yourself and others, and more freedom to engage with life.

My first session

I offer a free online consultation of up to 15 minutes, giving us an opportunity to introduce ourselves and for you to share briefly what you hope to gain from therapy.

Your first full session can take place online or in person and is charged. We will explore what brings you to therapy in more detail, and I will take a brief history to understand your experiences and circumstances. By the end, I will share my initial reflections and observations and suggest how we might work together, taking your preferences and goals into account.

As a counselling psychologist experienced in a range of therapeutic approaches, I tailor my work to your individual needs and personality. Together, we will consider an approach that feels right for you, rather than expecting your experiences to fit a single way of working.

For individual therapy, the first and all subsequent sessions last 50 minutes and are charged at my usual individual session fee.

For couples and families, the initial session and all subsequent joint sessions last 90 minutes, at a fee of £260 per session. If, as part of our work together, I occasionally meet individually with one partner or a family member, these sessions last 50 minutes at the cost of my usual individual session fee.

Availability

I am quite flexible offering supervision, depending on the frequency required. Supervision would most likely be online,  and I tend work mostly during the day during weekdays, or between 10am and 2pm on Saturdays.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience as a clinical supervisor and over 25 years in counselling and psychotherapy. I bring extensive clinical, academic and line-management experience across settings including the NHS, schools, youth centres, charities and private practice.

I offer a warm, collaborative and reflective supervisory relationship where you can be yourself, explore uncertainty and discuss challenges openly. My aim is to create a space in which you feel safe, supported and thoughtfully challenged to learn, grow and develop your professional identity.

My approach is flexible and pluralistic. Drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused and systemic perspectives, I adapt supervision to your experience, therapeutic orientation, learning needs and working context. Together, we can explore clinical work, therapeutic relationships, ethical dilemmas and the personal and organisational dynamics that influence practice.

I have extensive experience supervising trainee counselling psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors and play therapists, alongside qualified practitioners. My academic work within a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology informs my understanding of training requirements and the challenges of developing confidence while being assessed.

My line-management experience also brings an appreciation of organisational pressures, team relationships and the demands of working within services. I hold a PhD in Refugee Care and bring experience of working across cultures and with interpreters.

Although I am not an EMDR supervisor, I can support therapists who practise EMDR in reflecting on its integration into their wider clinical work. This complements, rather than replaces, specialist EMDR supervision.

Above all, I value supervision as a space for curiosity, compassion and honest reflection, supporting both your development and the people you work with.

Practice description

I offer clinical supervision to trainee and qualified counselling psychologists, clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, play therapists, systemic and family therapists, CBT therapists and EMDR therapists.

With over 20 years’ experience as a clinical supervisor, I provide a warm, reflective and collaborative space where you can be yourself, explore challenges and develop your confidence and practice. My flexible, pluralistic approach allows me to adapt supervision to your therapeutic orientation, professional experience and individual learning needs.

I work with individuals and small groups, with supervision offered mainly online and flexible appointment times. Concessionary rates are available for trainees at £120 per session.

Although I am not an accredited EMDR supervisor, I welcome therapists who practise EMDR and can support reflection on its integration into their broader clinical work. This does not replace specialist EMDR supervision or fulfil EMDR accreditation requirements.
