Availability

I work Monday to Friday.

I have some daytime slots available but no evening slots. I can offer a fixed day and time if needed or can be flexible each week with days and times if preferred.

I am flexible in how I work so although most clients come weekly to begin with, many move to fortnightly sessions or come as and when they feel they need a session.

I am able to offer flexibility as a lot of my work is monthly due to doing a lot of supervision work. I have also found over the years that often once people have had some weekly sessions they are keen to have more space between sessions to try out some of the new tools and strategies we have talked about in our sessions and may not want or need weekly sessions.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP accredited counsellor and qualified supervisor and have worked in private practice for over fourteen years. I work in a friendly, positive and constructive way.

I have significant experience of working with burn out, stress, panic attacks, general anxiety and depression, and issues surrounding self esteem and confidence.

I am currently doing a lot of work around wellbeing in work and am working with clients from the private sector, as well as charity workers, actors, academics and NHS employees. A lot of the work is to support people in preventing burnout, improving self care and deal with workplace stress.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and usually start weekly but can be fortnightly or at a frequency to suit your needs. I work in a calm, relaxed and supportive way using a variety of theoretical models. The space is yours to process difficult experiences, work out changes and goals you'd like to have and to reflect on your life and the impact that lived experiences may have had on you, coping habits you may have developed that are no longer useful and a chance to look at new ways of coping and building resilience.

I am a BUPA registered therapist.

Practice description

I work in an integrative and person-centred way. I'm trained in CBT, EMDR, transactional analysis and narrative therapy. I'm also trained as a therapeutic coach. I have had training in ADHD and worked with a lot of clients with neuordiversity. How I work and the theoretical model I bring into each session depends on the needs of each client so it varies between clients. I still believe the most important aspect of the work is to creating the relationship and ensuring relational depth so that a client feels safe and supported and can start to think about change.

Availability

I currently have some limited availability during the day to take on new supervisees. I am flexible with days and times and can offer either a fixed day or time each month or be flexible with that depending on the needs of the supervisee.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified supervisor and provide monthly supervision of counsellors working in agency settings as well as those in private practice.

I work with both newly qualified counsellors and experienced therapists. I also provide external supervision to frontline workers who work in charities supporting vulnerable clients such as refugees. I currently provide supervision to a number of counsellors who are new to setting up in private practice and provide advice and support for how to build up a successful practice. I do a lot of work around wellbeing and burnout in the workplace and how to manage and improve self care.

I really enjoy supervision and work in an integrative way using similar skills to my counselling practice. In addition I use the seven eyed supervision model as a basis to my work but the most important part of the work is building a strong relationship with each supervisee to develop trust and help challenge and support their work and ensure that each supervisee feels safe, held and able to expand their confidence and knowledge.

Practice description

I work differently depending on the experience and the need of the supervisee. I am supportive but also challenging and work in an integrative and person centred way. I have been a qualified supervisor for over 10 years and really enjoy the supervisory process.

I am experienced at supporting supervisees through their own development, training and cpd needs and supporting them with any safeguarding or ethical issues.

I have experience of supporting both newly qualified and experienced supervisees working in a broad range of areas that includes but isn't limited to those working with clients who have experienced trauma, abuse, burn out, menopause, depression, neurodiversity and adhd as well as health anxiety, physical illness and relationship issues.

My first session

I am happy to have an initial phonecall prior to the first supervision session to have a chat about how I work.

All sessions after that are held either in-person, online or via whatsapp videocall.
