About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my profile. I am a qualified and experienced counsellor with experience of working in GP surgeries, NHS and IAPT (Improving Access to psychological Therapies) services and private and voluntary sectors. I also work with couples. I offer supervision to other counsellors and counsellors in training.
I use an integrative approach in my practice and use different models and techniques to suit the individual. Seeking therapy is a brave step and it takes a lot of courage to begin the journey of self-awareness. I aim to provide a safe, warm, empathic and confidential service to all my clients to support you through the difficult times. I can also help you to learn effective techniques as recommended by NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) to manage stress, anxiety and depression.
I offer long term and short term therapy with a special interest in personal development. I also offer stress management and psychological well-being sessions for stress, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, bereavement and loss, confidence and self-esteem, anger and communication.
I am a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

My first session
The first session is an assessment session. As we have not met before the aim of the session is to find out more about you and what brings you to therapy. I may ask you to complete standard questionnaires and I will also ask you questions about your physical health, mental health and lifestyle. This is to help me understand and build a picture of you and any difficulties you may be experiencing. I also wish to establish if I am the right person for you or whether you may be more suited to a different type of therapy or help.
