About me and my therapy practice
My work is about one thing: belonging to yourself, exactly as you are.I work with people who are gifted, neurodivergent, or both (twice-exceptional, or '2e')—whether or not they've ever been diagnosed or identified this way. By gifted I don't mean high-achieving or academically able. I mean the inner experience: the intensity, sensitivity and complexity that the world so often reads as "too much" or "not enough", or even both at once.
Does this sound like you?
- Were you told at school—or anywhere—that you were too much, or not enough, or that you just didn't fit?
- Have you learned to mask or suppress parts of yourself to feel safe, and is that disconnection taking a toll now?
- Do you feel you've spent your life trying to fit into systems that were never built for minds like yours?
- Has watching your own child struggle to belong opened something in you that never quite healed?
- Do you grieve the life you might have lived if you'd been met and understood as you are?
I can help you to:
- Heal the shame of being told you were the problem, and find self-compassion
- Make sense of why you struggled when you tried so hard to fit in
- Understand yourself through a gifted and neurodivergent lens, and see that you were never the problem
- Unlearn old survival strategies and find new ones that let you be the real you
- Come home to yourself, exactly as you are
Working with trauma is central to what I do, grounded in Core Process Psychotherapy.
I identify as neurodivergent and gifted myself.
I also walk alongside those carrying profound loss—including the loss of a child to suicide or addiction.

Practice description
Each weekly session we will explore how you are in relation to your concerns. How you really are. We will think about what it is that you want to be different for you. I will check to make sure I am accurately understanding what you are telling me. I may ask further questions so that I can understand more.
My aim is always to get a closer understanding of your world. I will not judge or compare this with mine or anyone else's. The things you are concerned about might shift and change as we go along. I will be checking that we are still doing what matters most to you.
I will always allow you to go at your own pace and I will always follow your lead. The idea is that, through your therapy, things will begin to change for you for the better. Of course, that change is different for everyone and can take a few sessions or longer to begin. We will be reviewing how it's going at regular intervals.
There are differences in how it works depending on the communication method we choose:
For therapy using video or phone we have weekly appointments which are one hour long. We work together throughout the session. Sometimes there are silences and that is fine and expected. It is important to have the opportunity to reflect as we go along.
Therapy using email is also a weekly process, but we each work in our own time. We use email, but it's more like writing letters to each other.
Many neurodivergent people find that writing allows them to express themselves more clearly and authentically than speaking does.
You have space to organise your thoughts, revisit what you've written, and communicate exactly what you mean without the sensory overwhelm or processing demands of face-to-face conversation.
My emails will include my responses to what you share in your email to me. I will make comments and ask you questions to support you to reflect and explore further.
My first session
All bookings can be made online on my website.
You can book a free 30 minute introductory call so that I can answer any questions you might have.
Your first therapy session is a consultation. The charge for this is £100 and it takes 60–75 minutes.
It has two purposes.
First, I'll invite you to give me an outline of your concerns and what you're hoping for from therapy, so that together we can explore whether further work with me is likely to be a useful approach for you.
Second, we'll sort out some practical things—the timings for the sessions, and so on.
I want you to get the right support. If I don't feel that working with me is the right approach for you, then I will say so. In that case I will support you to find an approach that suits you better.
If we agree to go ahead, we will start by booking a block of six sessions and then we will review together as we go to make sure that they are feeling useful. Six sessions might be enough, or we may agree to continue to work together.
