About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor with more than 16 years’ experience as well as a qualified clinical supervisor and coach. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have completed an ICF-accredited coaching programme.
My 15 years of experience in education have given me a strong understanding of the personal, professional and organisational pressures that can affect emotional wellbeing. I work with adults and young people experiencing difficulties including trauma, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, loss, relationship problems and work-related challenges.
My approach is based on the understanding that every person is unique. Rather than applying one method to everyone, I work collaboratively with you to understand your experiences, needs and hopes for counselling. Depending on what feels appropriate, our work may draw on talking therapy, EMDR, trauma-informed approaches, coaching skills and mindfulness-based stress reduction.
I aim to provide a safe, supportive and confidential space in which you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace. Together, we can make sense of the difficulties you are facing, recognise existing strengths and consider changes that may support your well-being.
Alongside individual counselling, I facilitate peer-support groups and workshops, providing further opportunities for reflection, learning and connection.
Livewell Counselling Service has been recognised as Best Counselling Service in the local area.
If you are considering counselling, I would be happy to answer your questions and arrange an initial conversation to explore what you are looking for and whether I may be the right counsellor for you.
Practice description
Livewell Counselling Service is based in Chorley, Lancashire. I offer confidential face-to-face appointments from our Chorley practice, as well as secure online counselling and supervision for clients and practitioners across the UK.
The choice between face-to-face and online sessions allows you to access support in the way that feels most comfortable and practical for you.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to counselling. I will invite you to talk about what you are experiencing, what you would like support with and what you hope may change.
We will discuss how counselling works, including confidentiality, session arrangements, fees, cancellations and any questions you may have. I may ask about your personal history, current circumstances and emotional well-being. Where helpful, we may use brief assessment questionnaires to support our shared understanding of your needs.
Together, we can begin identifying what you would like to focus on. You do not need to arrive with clear or measurable goals, we can develop these gradually as the work progresses.
An important part of the first session is considering whether you feel comfortable working with me. I aim to create a safe, respectful and trusting environment where you can talk openly at a pace that feels right for you.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified clinical supervisor and coach with more than 16 years experience in education, specialising in work with children, young people and the professionals who support them.
I offer a warm, collaborative and appropriately challenging approach to supervision. My aim is to create a confidential reflective space where practitioners can explore their client work, professional responsibilities, personal responses and the organisational pressures that may influence their practice.
Supervision with me can include reflection on complex client work, safeguarding, trauma, neurodiversity, ethical decision-making, professional boundaries and practitioner wellbeing.
I support supervisees to recognise their strengths, consider different perspectives and develop greater confidence in their professional judgement.
I provide individual supervision face-to-face and online. Sessions are tailored to the practitioner’s role, experience, therapeutic approach and developmental needs.
I also provide reflective and group supervision for private practitioners, counsellors, education staff, leaders and organisations. Group supervision offers opportunities for shared learning, professional connection and thoughtful reflection, helping to reduce the isolation that can accompany private practice or emotionally demanding work.
My coaching experience complements my supervisory approach by supporting purposeful reflection, realistic goal-setting and continuing professional development. Where appropriate, I integrate coaching skills while maintaining a clear distinction between coaching, supervision and therapy.
I view supervision as more than a professional requirement. It is a relationship that supports ethical practice, client safety, professional growth and the wellbeing of the practitioner.
I offer a complimentary introductory conversation so that we can discuss your supervision needs and consider whether we would work well together.
Practice description
My approach to supervision is informed by Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model and Page and Wosket’s Cyclical Model.
The Seven-Eyed Model allows us to consider client work from several interconnected perspectives. These include the client’s experience and the interventions used, the relationship between client and practitioner, the practitioner’s own responses, the supervisory relationship and the influence of the wider organisational and professional context.
Page and Wosket’s Cyclical Model provides a collaborative structure for supervision. It supports us in agreeing how we will work together, identifying a focus, creating space for exploration, connecting reflection to practice and reviewing learning and progress.
Within this framework, I aim to offer four important elements:
• Support – developing a trusting supervisory relationship in which supervisees feel able to reflect openly and honestly.
• Development – encouraging deeper self-awareness, professional curiosity and continuing growth in skills and knowledge.
• Resourcing – helping supervisees identify practical strategies, internal resources and sources of support that strengthen their practice and wellbeing.
• Review – reflecting together on progress, recognising development and identifying areas that may need further attention.
My approach combines encouragement with appropriate professional challenge. I aim to provide a reflective space where supervisees feel supported, thoughtfully challenged, and better equipped to work safely, ethically and confidently with their client's.
My first session
I offer a free introductory session as this allows both parties to get to know each other and to decide if this would be a good fit for our professional relationship. It also provides space and time for the supervisee to ask any questions about what they hope to gain and benefit from the sessions.
