About me and my therapy practice
I am a MBACP registered psychotherapist/counsellor with 15 years of experience, who works with a person centred and integrative approach. Taking those first steps into counselling can be a daunting time, so I make every effort to ensure I provide a safe and comfortable environment free of any distractions. I allow my clients to work at their own pace, which allows me to explore the clients’ issues safe in the knowledge that whatever they say is totally confidential and they can be reassured they will not be judged in anyway. Everybody will struggle and may need some help at some stage in their life, I ensure I am able to walk alongside my clients as we try to navigate a solution to their problems and issues, enabling them to move forward with their lives.
My experience is extensive, with a proven background in Health and Social Care as a midwife, mental health worker, bereavement counsellor, manager of a Rape Crisis Centre, online children’s counsellor, school counsellor, couples’ counsellor, specialist student mentor and EAP provider. As an Integrative counsellor, I combine a variety of models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Solution focused therapy, humanistic and creative artwork. The counselling will be a mix of some, or all of these forms of therapy, depending on the issues presented.
I have worked with a variety of issues, ranging from bereavement, baby loss, addiction, anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, OCD, relationship problems, domestic violence, sexual abuse, trauma, identity issues, self-esteem, personality disorders, eating disorders, neurodivergent clients and work related difficulties. This list is by no means exhaustive.
Practice description
My approach has the individual person at the centre, which enables me to work collaboratively with the client in a holistic and insightful way to enable them to consider change. I provide comprehensive assessments of clients on which to base appropriate counselling interventions, or to make recommendations for referral to other professionals. I will be led by what the client brings to the sessions with support and guidance. Our therapeutic relationship and connection will be key in helping provide the right environment, to make the changes needed to for a healthier life.I offer a welcoming and safe environment, where you will be able to explore your thoughts and feelings, safe in the knowledge you will be seen, heard and validated.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer individual supervision to counsellors and other helping professionals, using an integrative approach informed by the Integrated Developmental Model (IDM).
My counselling background includes training in person‑centred, integrative, solution‑focused, CBT, psychodynamic, coaching, and mindfulness approaches. I provide supervision face to face, by telephone, and via video. I have experience working with children, adults, and older adults.
As a supervisor, I support both trainee and qualified counsellors, as well as professionals working across mental health and wellbeing services.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in healthcare as a midwife and registered nurse. Prior to establishing my private practice, I gained experience with multiple EAP services, worked as a specialist mentor in student services, provided counselling on a children’s online forum, worked as a school counsellor, managed a Rape and Sexual Abuse Service and a Domestic Violence Service, and practised within GP surgeries and student support settings.
I draw on this breadth of experience, alongside my counselling and clinical supervision training, to support supervisees in a grounded, informed, and collaborative way.
Practice description
I offer individual clinical supervision to counsellors and other helping professionals, using an integrative approach informed by the Integrated Developmental Model (IDM). My aim is to create a collaborative, reflective space where you can deepen your clinical thinking, strengthen your professional identity, and feel supported in the realities of therapeutic work.
My background spans person‑centred, integrative, solution‑focused, CBT, psychodynamic, coaching, and mindfulness approaches, and I draw on these flexibly to meet your developmental stage and learning style. I have experience working with children, adults, and older adults, and I offer supervision face to face, by telephone, and online.
Supervisees can expect a balance of support, challenge, and gentle accountability. I pay close attention to ethical practice, client safeguarding, and your wellbeing as a practitioner. Together, we explore clinical themes, relational dynamics, therapeutic stuck points, and the impact of the work on you. I welcome both trainee and qualified counsellors, as well as professionals working across mental health and wellbeing services.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a midwife and registered nurse, and later gained extensive experience across EAP services, student support, school counselling, online youth counselling, GP surgeries, and in managing specialist services in sexual violence and domestic abuse. This breadth of experience informs my supervision style, offering a grounded, real‑world understanding of the challenges practitioners face.
My intention is to provide a safe, thoughtful, and growth‑oriented space where you feel heard, respected, and professionally nourished.
My first session
Your first supervision session is a gentle landing place — spacious, curious, and intentionally crafted to help you feel both welcomed and professionally held. Rather than diving straight into casework, we begin by getting to know *you* as a practitioner: your story, your values, your hopes for your work, and the edges where you’d like to grow.
I take an integrative, developmental approach, so our first meeting is less about assessment and more about mapping your unique professional landscape. We explore your strengths, your learning style, and the conditions you need to feel safe, stretched, and supported. Many supervisees describe this first session as a chance to exhale — a rare moment to pause and reflect on who they are becoming as a therapist.
You can expect a blend of warmth, structure, and thoughtful curiosity. I’ll invite you to talk about the clients you work with, the contexts you practise in, and the pressures or joys that shape your week. We’ll look at what supervision has been like for you in the past, what you want it to be now, and how we can co‑create a space that genuinely nourishes your practice.
Because of my background across healthcare, trauma services, education, EAPs, and community settings, I bring a grounded, real‑world understanding of the environments therapists work in. In our first session, I use this experience to help you feel understood quickly — without assumptions, without judgement, and without the need to “perform” competence.
By the end of our first meeting, you’ll have a clear sense of how I work: collaborative, ethically anchored, gently challenging, and deeply invested in your development. You’ll leave with a shared supervision plan, a sense of direction, and the reassurance that this is a space where your professional and personal self can be explored with honesty and care.
