About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Rosie.
You're very welcome here.
I'm a therapist with over 12 years experience, working from an attachment - informed perspective. I work with adults (18+) around relationships, emotional patterns and the ways earlier experiences continue to shape how we connect and relate to ourselves and to others.
Some people come wanting longer-term relational work, while others are looking for short-term support around a specific issue or life transition. We can take time to talk together about what feels most helpful for you right now.
You might feel stuck in repeating relationship patterns, or find it hard to make sense of how you're feeling. Perhaps you struggle with feeling too much or not enough, or you long for closeness while also feeling wary or afraid of it.
You may be facing a significant transition or loss, such as bereavement or divorce, or a decision that feels heavy or unsettling.
Whatever you bring and wherever you are in your life, I will meet you there.
My approach is warm, steady and calm, paced with care and intention. I believe that our patterns- whether they show up as anxiety, emotional shutdown, withdrawal or people - pleasing - developed for good reasons - in response to real experiences and real needs. From an attachment perspective, these ways of coping are understood as adaptations rather than flaws.
Therapy is not about fixing or getting rid of these parts of you. It's about understanding them with compassion, softening their hold and creating more room for choice, safety and connection.
I often work with adults who:
-feel stuck in repeating relationship patterns.
-experience anxiety around closeness, or fears of abandonment, rejection or engulfment.
-find themselves prioritising others' needs over their own and identify as people-pleasers.
-feel emotionally disconnected or overwhelmed in relationships.
-find themselves facing relationship breakdown or loss, including bereavement.
-find themselves navigating a major life transition or significant decision.
Practice description
At its core, attachment - informed therapy is relational. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a place where new experiences of safety, trust and repair can slowly emerge.
I work slowly and intentionally, with respect for your nervous system and your history. I pay close attention to safety, pacing and what is happening for you as we talk, because change happens best when you don't feel rushed. You won't be pushed to revisit experiences before you are ready and you don't have to have the "right words" to begin. Together we take time to create enough safety and stability for deeper work to unfold naturally.
The therapeutic relationship is central to my work. We'll notice what it feels like to be in connection- what feels easy, what feels hard and what might feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar.
Our sessions may include;
-exploring early attachment experiences and how they continue to shape current relationships.
-noticing emotional and bodily responses as they arise in the present moment.
-gently questioning beliefs that developed as survival strategies.
-practicing new ways of relating, setting boundaries and staying present.
My first session
The first session is about helping you feel oriented and understood.
We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy now and what you're hoping for, whether that's short-term support around a current concern or a longer-term process of understanding deeper patterns.
You don't need to know exactly where to begin- we'll move at a pace that feels safe and manageable, and I'll help guide the conversation so we can start building a sense of safety and connection from the start.
By the end of this first session, we'll have a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit and what next steps might look like.
