About me and my therapy practice
Do you long for a quiet mind that doesn't over-think and over-analyse every conversation you've had or choice you've made?
Are you caring and compassionate to everyone except yourself?
If you are outwardly functioning but looking for a way to feel less anxious and more confident about who you are, and what you want from life, I'm here to help.
I offer short and longer-term online therapy to help people manage anxiety and stress, overcome low mood, and boost confidence and self-esteem.
I’m a therapist and coach working with evidence-based approaches – and I have personal experience that they work and can turn your life around! I know what it's like to struggle with perfectionism, anxiety and self-doubt while outwardly seeming successful. I believe that changing your relationship with yourself is the key to achieving peace of mind, and flourishing in all aspects of life, including relationships, career and physical health.
The heart of all the work I do is understanding how past events may be impacting current behaviour, experiences and relationships. We also work on changing the relationship you have with yourself by developing self-acceptance and self-compassion. I often use CBT and ACT-based approaches to shift unhelpful thinking patterns, and coaching to help you connect with your core values and personal strengths.
My training and qualifications cover human relationships and development, the influence of lifestyle on mental health, and how our thinking habits and core beliefs influence our self-image and experience of life. I am committed to ongoing training and personal development.
Before training as a therapist I had a long career in the media and still work as a freelance writer. Many of my clients come from the media and creative professions (but not all!)
You've worked hard to reach your goals and achieve in life. You've given and continue to give a lot of yourself to others. Now it's time to invest in yourself - you deserve to find peace of mind and contentment.

Availability
I currently offer online sessions. My first available session is 8am and my last session 7pm, Monday to Thursday.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer supervision to therapists and counsellors in private practice, with a focus on thoughtful, supportive reflection that helps you grow in confidence and work well with your clients. While I complete my supervision training, I am offering low-cost supervision at £40 per hour. I am also available for one-off or ad hoc consultations.
I have run a successful private practice for 15 years alongside my career as a journalist and editor. I am the former editor of Therapy Today and now work as a consultant editor. I also research and write the magazine’s ‘Dilemmas’ column, which explores the common challenges, ethical tensions and barriers that arise in therapeutic work.
Good practice matters deeply to me, but my approach to supervision is not about judgement. I aim to offer a reflective, collaborative space where you feel supported and encouraged to think clearly, work ethically, and develop your own confidence and authority as a practitioner.
I am also especially interested in the business of therapy: how we build work that is sustaining, ethical and resilient, and how therapists can survive and thrive in an uncertain professional landscape. My book on setting up a successful private practice will be published by PCCS Books in 2027.
My personal outlook is shaped by my studies in Tibetan Buddhism. Values such as compassion, presence, humility and respect for the reality of suffering inform the way I work. I hope to bring these qualities into supervision by offering a space that is grounded, thoughtful and kind, where complexity can be met with honesty and care.
