About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist and have been practising for 20 years.

My aim is to be supportive and listen to whatever it is you want to talk about - by reading about me you may be wanting to talk to someone who is impartial and who can help you to find a better way to manage and bring about positive change in your life.

Life can be difficult at times and you may be finding it harder than usual to cope with the various problems you are having. You might be feeling more anxious than normal, have become overwhelmed or have feelings of low self-confidence and as a result you may be struggling to know how to make things better for yourself.

I provide warmth, understanding and empathy and we can work together to explore what you are finding difficult and why things may feel overwhelming for you right now. Being able to share your feelings in a safe and confidential space can be incredibly helpful.

It can often be really hard to bring about change and talking about what is going on for you, both now and potentially earlier in your life, can help you to make better choices for yourself in the future and get you to where you want to be in both your personal and professional relationships.

I also have many years' experience of working with various forms of loss; the emotion of grief is what we feel after experiencing any major loss whether it is the ending of an important relationship, the loss of your job, following the death of someone significant to you or having to move home or country as well as other types of loss. These experiences can bring up very powerful and often confusing feelings which can be totally overwhelming and difficult to understand on your own.

Practice description

I will work with you to suit your needs so that you can get what you want from the sessions. I dont use any fixed psychotherapy approach as I like to use my experience to develop a genuine and open therapeutic relationship with you.

I currently only offer sessions online via either Zoom, Signal or WhatsApp.

Appointments are available during the day and early evenings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Please either email me or ring me to discuss, in confidence, what you would like help with. If I am unable to answer the phone please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

My first session

Your first session is likely to be different from subsequent sessions as I will be asking you various questions so that I can find out a bit more about what has brought you to therapy and what you may be hoping to get from your sessions. I will also ask you about your personal history including your childhood and early life so that I can gain a fuller understanding of where you are now.

At the end of your initial session, we will hopefully have an idea of whether we are able to work together. If you would like time to think about it that is fine too.
