About me and my therapy practice
I am a registered member and accredited therapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I trained in the early 2000s and achieved accreditation in 2016.
Over the course of my career, I have worked across a wide range of settings, including schools and colleges, charities, private medical centres, and hospitals. Within educational environments, I have supported children and young people with additional needs, including those with neurodiversity.
I have also spent many years working in the sight loss sector, helping both adults and young people adjust to visual impairment and diagnoses of degenerative conditions. This has given me extensive experience in supporting individuals through life-changing diagnoses or injuries.
From 2014, I was part of the psychological medicine team at The Kent institute of medicine and surgery (KIMS Hospital) for seven years. I then moved to The Mind Body Clinic in Tonbridge, a multidisciplinary setting where I continue to work with clients facing a wide range of challenges. These include life-changing health conditions, depression, anxiety, stress, confidence issues, loss, and major life transitions such as separation, blended family dynamics, and retirement. While these transitions are common, they can be complex, and many people benefit from support as they adapt to change.
Working within a multidisciplinary team allows me to collaborate closely with colleagues to provide holistic, well-rounded care tailored to each client.
I believe strongly in the connection between mind and body. By working with the whole person, therapy can support positive change, encourage healthier choices, and help individuals stay on track as they move forward.
