About me and my therapy practice
If you’re a man reading this…
I specialise in working confidentially with men — often men who feel stuck in patterns they can’t shift. This might show up as anxiety, addiction, ADHD, relationship difficulties, intrusive thoughts, or the pressure to stay strong, capable, and dependable for others.
Many of the men I work with are used to managing things alone, keeping going, or not quite knowing how to put into words what’s been weighing on them. It’s common to feel overwhelmed or quietly exhausted, even when life looks “fine” from the outside.
You don’t need the right language or a clear plan before starting therapy. Many men carry a great deal internally while continuing to function at work, in relationships, or as fathers, partners, or leaders.
I am an NHS‑trained practitioner with 22 years of clinical experience across a wide range of settings, including leading mental health services for an international NGO, consultancy, training, and clinical supervision. I’ve supported many hundreds of individuals - many of them men - navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, ADHD, and major life transitions.
Therapy with me isn’t about being analysed or fixed. It’s open‑ended and client‑led: you choose the focus, the pace, and how long our work together lasts.
**Why men seek therapy**
Alcohol or drug overuse
Porn, sex and other addictions
Anger and frustration
Difficulties with intimacy
Relationship problems
Sexuality concerns
Mid‑life crises
Low mood or depression
Low self‑confidence
Work stress and burnout
Trauma and abuse
**What makes me different**
Experience with men who find it hard to talk or don’t feel “therapy‑ready”
A blend of emotional depth and practical problem‑solving
Specialist expertise in anxiety, stress, ADHD, addiction, and trauma/PTSD
A grounded, supportive approach centred on genuine care for your progress
Practice description
**Who I Work With Best**
I work especially well with men who are:
Feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or emotionally overloaded
Struggling with anxiety, overthinking, or harsh self-criticism
Navigating life transitions, identity shifts, or relationship changes
Living with ADHD or ADHD traits (diagnosed or suspected)
Carrying a lot alone and unsure how to talk about it
Wanting clarity, direction, and a steadier emotional footing
If you recognise yourself in any of these, you’re in the right place — and you don’t have to keep carrying it alone.
**How I work**
Many clients tell me they value a balance of space to talk things through and practical ways of making sense of what’s happening. My approach is warm, transparent, and methodical.
I blend emotional support with practical, real‑world problem‑solving to help you move forward in ways that feel manageable and grounded.
**Here’s what you can expect:**
I offer both short‑term and long‑term therapy. There’s no minimum or maximum number of sessions. We’ll have regular check‑ins to reflect on how therapy feels and ensure it’s meeting your needs.
A space where you feel more capable and less alone
**What clients say**
Many of the people I work with are men who’ve tried therapy before and felt misunderstood.
"Andy is a brilliant professional. Having tried multiple psychologists, his knowledge and care have resonated with me the most. With him, you feel heard, not dismissed — genuinely understood. Andy is a genuine and attentive person, which makes a huge difference in the process."
"Andy has been very helpful in showing me to accept loss and see myself in different ways, I do feel lighter for talking to him, and I think it's just the start and hope to continue working with him as I move forward with life."
Alongside my private practice, I’ve supported hundreds of clients through a leading online therapy platform, receiving a consistent 4.9/5-star rating across 823 sessions in 2025.

You’re welcome to book a free 15‑minute conversation. It’s simply a chance to talk, ask questions, and get a feel for whether working together is the right fit — no pressure.
