Practice description

My approach is grounded in building a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I believe that feeling heard, understood, and accepted is fundamental to the therapeutic process. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, bereavement, low self-esteem, life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, therapy and/or coaching can provide a space to explore your experiences, gain insight, and develop new ways of coping and moving forward and finding your true potential.

To help you take the first step, I offer a free 10-minute introductory consultation. This initial conversation provides an opportunity for us to discuss what has brought you here, explore what you would like to achieve, and consider how I may be able to support you. It also allows you to ask any questions you may have about the counselling / coaching process and helps us determine whether we feel comfortable working together.

My first session

Your first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what you are hoping to achieve through therapy.

As your therapist, I will:

Ask about what has brought you to therapy

Explore your background and current situation

Discuss what you are hoping to gain from therapy

Explain my approach and how I work

Answer any questions you may have

Discuss practical matters such as the frequency and duration of sessions

We will also discuss:

Confidentiality and its limits

What happens in emergencies

How we will work together

There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable sharing. This session is as much about you getting a sense of whether I am the right therapist for you as it is about me getting to know you.
