About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced and skilled counsellor and psychotherapist with over 16 years of practice supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. My approach is thoughtful, inquisitive, and grounded in honesty, while remaining gentle, respectful, and non-judgemental. I aim to create a space where you feel heard and understood, recognising the uniqueness of your life experiences, perspectives, and the emotional or mental states you may wish to explore.

Practice description

My work is rooted in relational and humanistic values, placing emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for meaningful change. I also draw from existential, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural approaches, integrating these perspectives to suit your individual needs. This flexible, tailored way of working allows us to explore both present concerns and deeper patterns that may be influencing your life.

I believe that, at times, thoughtful challenge can be an important part of the therapeutic process, particularly when examining longstanding behaviours or ways of relating. I approach this with sensitivity and care, supporting you to reflect, gain insight, and move towards change and understanding at a pace that feels right for you.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and to explore what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life. It is a gentle, open conversation where you can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. There is no expectation to have everything clearly articulated—this space is for you.

We will talk about what you would like support with, any current difficulties, and, where helpful, some background about your experiences. I may ask questions to better understand your situation, but this will always be done with care and respect for your boundaries. You are welcome to ask questions too, whether about the process, my approach, or anything that helps you feel more at ease.

The first session also allows us to consider whether we feel like a good fit to work together. The therapeutic relationship is central to effective therapy, so it’s important that you feel safe, heard, and comfortable.

We may touch on practical aspects such as confidentiality, session structure, and what ongoing work could look like, but there is no pressure to commit beyond this initial meeting. It is a space to begin, to reflect, and to take a first step at your own pace.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced counsellor, psychotherapist, and clinical supervisor with over 16 years of practice. Alongside my therapeutic work, I offer supervision to both trainee and qualified practitioners across a range of settings. My supervision practice is grounded in relational and humanistic values, with an emphasis on creating a reflective, collaborative, and ethically attuned space.

I have been published in the field and lecture at a London university. These roles keep me engaged with current research, theory, and developments in psychotherapy and counselling, which I integrate into both my clinical and training work.

Practice description

I design and deliver bespoke training and workshops across a wide range of areas, including:

Mental health and emotional wellbeing: anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress, self-esteem, self-harm, post-traumatic stress, trauma, bereavement and loss.

Addictions and complex presentations: substance dependency, addictions, eating disorders, and severe mental illness.

Health and neurodiversity: neurodiversity, ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, sensory impairment, disability, chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, cancer, HIV/AIDS, and other health-related issues.

Identity and relational issues: cultural identity, sexual identity, sexuality, spirituality, men’s and women’s issues, identity development, and relationships.

Life transitions and family-related issues: adoption, child-related issues, infertility, pregnancy-related issues, baby loss, and work-related issues including stress and redundancy.

My training is integrative, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic, existential, and CBT approaches. I tailor each workshop to the needs of the group, ensuring content is relevant, accessible, and clinically grounded.

I aim to create an engaging and reflective learning environment that supports both practical skill development and critical thinking, with attention to practitioner wellbeing and the emotional impact of the work.

I design and deliver both standalone workshops and longer training programmes across a wide range of psychological, relational, health-related, identity-focused, and work-related areas.

I can also design bespoke training and workshops tailored specifically to the needs of your organisation or service.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced counsellor, psychotherapist, and clinical supervisor with over 16 years of practice. Alongside my therapeutic work, I offer supervision to both trainee and qualified practitioners across a range of settings. My supervision practice is grounded in the same relational and humanistic values that underpin my clinical work, with an emphasis on creating a reflective, collaborative, and ethically attuned space.

In addition to my clinical and supervisory experience, I have been published within the field and lecture at a London university. These roles inform my practice by keeping me engaged with current theoretical developments, research, and the evolving landscape of psychotherapy and counselling. I bring this integration of practice, theory, and academic insight into supervision, supporting practitioners to think critically and work with depth and integrity.

I view supervision as a dynamic and ongoing process that supports the development of clinical competence, ethical awareness, and professional identity. It is a space not only for case discussion, but also for exploring the emotional impact of the work, practitioner wellbeing, and the broader relational dynamics that emerge in therapeutic practice.

Practice description

My approach to supervision is relational, reflective, and integrative. I offer a supportive yet appropriately challenging space where supervisees can think openly about their work and areas of development.

I draw on humanistic, psychodynamic, existential and creative perspectives, tailoring supervision to each practitioner’s experience, modality, and context. I am attentive to the therapeutic relationship, parallel process, and wider systemic influences.

I use thoughtful challenge sensitively to deepen understanding, support ethical practice, and enhance clinical effectiveness. My aim is to help practitioners develop confidence, clarity, and their own authentic therapeutic

My first session

The first supervision session is a space to establish a safe, collaborative working relationship and to explore what you are looking for from supervision. We will discuss your current practice, level of experience, and any professional or organisational requirements to ensure the work is appropriately aligned.

There is an opportunity to reflect on your therapeutic approach and how you experience your client work, though there is no expectation to bring material at this stage. We will also cover key practical and ethical aspects, including confidentiality, boundaries, and the supervision agreement.

This session allows us to consider whether we feel like a good fit to work together, laying the foundation for a reflective and supportive supervisory process.
