About me and my therapy practice

I practice as an integrative relational therapist, an organisational psychologist and coach – working individually with adults and young people.

Life can become hard on us at times and sometimes we may find ourselves struggling.  We might struggle as a consequence of our past experiences, upbringings, the weight of expectations from people in our lives and imposed by society.  This is particularly prevalent in times of change and uncertainty, making us feel disconnected from everyone, even ourselves and our loved ones.

Therapy can provide support and help in developing an understanding of what is going on or causing distress.  when we could all benefit from some support; meeting life’s challenges, particularly in times of change and uncertainty.  Therapy is a journey of self-discovery - it can be both a practical and creative process that explores feelings, thoughts and behavioural patterns. I endeavour to create a safe environment where you can explore and make sense of your emotional experiences, relationships with others and the world around you. This space is non-judgemental and confidential. My main aim is to improve people’s sense of well-being, alleviate distress, resolve concerns, increase capacity to problem-solve, build resilience and make decisions.

I combine my inspiration and creativity with knowledge and pragmatism to support individuals live more fulfilling and purposeful lives. I adopt an integrative approach to psychotherapy and counselling due to the uniqueness of each person and their presenting issues and concerns. I integrate a range of theories and approaches; from psychodynamic, humanistic, body-based, self-psychology, cognitive behavioural methods and Mindfulness practice. However, at the heart of my practice is the principle of relationship between therapist and client and encourage open and honest communication.

Fees: I work on a sliding scale (£65-95), clients pay what they can afford

My first session

The first session (50-60mins) is an opportunity for you to get an idea as to how I work.

It also gives me an opportunity to learn about you:  your life at present, your relationships and your historical background, what it is that has brought you to therapy, what your expectations are and what your are hoping to achieve from the process. It is hard to predict the course of our initial talk, but we will go over some of the practical details of our arrangement, should you decide to return for further sessions.

There is no longer obligation in seeing me for a first session, whether or not to continue beyond that will be entirely up to you.
