About me and my therapy practice

I am  BACP accredited counsellor with 17 years of experience and can offer sessions in Welsh and English.

As a person centred counsellor, I value the importance of building a trusting and non-judgemental relationship. I strongly believe that this is key in the therapeutic process in helping individuals to feel safe and able to share what is intrinsically important, giving opportunity for greater understanding and awareness leading to positive changes.

I have experience of working with adults and young people with a variety of issues and difficulties including stress, bereavement, depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, relationship issues, low self esteem, identity issues and more.

I continue with professional development from a variety of training days and workshops; these learning experiences become a positive influence within my practice.

Practice description

Our individuality and unique personal experiences means that we all struggle with life's challenges differently . I will offer a warm, empathic and non judgemental space where you will be heard and understood with yours.

I will support you with all that you decide to bring; we will work together as you  gain a better understanding of your thoughts and feelings. I will stay with you as you explore these further and decide what is right for you and the changes that you feel you need to make for positive outcomes.

I use Zoom's secure video conferencing technology for my sessions.

My first session

Before the first session

A trusting relationship is one of the most important aspects of therapy  I therefore offer a free no obligation 20-30 minute appointment for us to meet each other after your initial contact.

During this time together there will be opportunity for me to share information about my practice and answer any questions you may have and for you to share your reasons for exploring therapy.

This gives opportunity for you to get a sense that to have therapy with me feels right, and for further sessions to be arranged.

Initial and following sessions

At the beginning of the first session there will be time to ensure that all information previously shared is clear, understood and agreed.

We will then, and in following sessions, have time to work together at your pace and within an agreed time framework.
