About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Suzie Shepperson, a relational, integrative therapist, and I work with individuals, couples and people who have experienced trauma.
My approach is warm, down-to-earth and collaborative. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, without judgement, while we make sense of what’s going on and what you might want to change.
With individual therapy, we can explore whatever is bringing you to therapy, whether that’s anxiety, difficult emotions, relationships, life changes or patterns that you keep finding yourself caught up in. I draw on different approaches, including attachment, psychodynamic and CBT, and tailor the work to you.
I also offer EMDR, which can be particularly helpful when past experiences continue to affect how you feel, think or respond in the present. We’ll always work at a pace that feels safe for you.
With couples therapy, I’m interested in the dynamic between you, the patterns you can get stuck in, how you communicate, how you respond to each other, and what happens when things become difficult. Rather than taking sides, I work with the relationship itself, helping you understand what’s happening between you and find new ways of connecting.
For me, therapy isn’t about having all the answers or telling you what to do. It’s about creating a space where you can feel heard, understand yourself and your relationships more deeply, and find a way forward that feels right for you.
If you’re wondering whether therapy might be helpful, I’d be very happy to have a conversation and see what feels right.
Practice description
Individual Therapy, EMDR, Relational & Couples Therapy
I offer individual counselling and psychotherapy, EMDR, relational therapy and couples therapy in Weybridge and the surrounding areas. My approach is warm, empathic and respectful, creating a confidential space where you can explore what may be troubling you, at your own pace and without judgement.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy provides space to explore your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships and experiences. Together, we can develop a deeper understanding of yourself, recognise patterns that may no longer be helpful, and explore new ways of responding and coping.
EMDR
I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy that can help you process distressing or traumatic experiences. It may be helpful for trauma and related difficulties, including anxiety, phobias and post-traumatic symptoms. We will explore whether EMDR is right for you and work at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Relational Therapy
As a relational, integrative psychotherapist, I recognise how our relationships and early experiences can shape how we understand ourselves and connect with others. Therapy can help you explore these patterns, develop greater self-awareness and find more fulfilling ways of relating.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy focuses on the dynamic between you as a couple — how you communicate, respond to each other, connect, disconnect and manage conflict. We explore the patterns you can become caught in and how each of you experiences the relationship. The aim is to develop greater understanding, improve connection and create positive change together.
My aim is to create a therapeutic space where you feel heard, understood and accepted, helping you develop greater self-awareness, emotional wellbeing and choice.
My first session
The First Sessions
The first few sessions are an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to begin to feel comfortable in the therapeutic space. We will explore what has brought you to therapy, your current circumstances and any experiences that may be relevant to what you are going through.
I use this time to develop an understanding of your needs, relationships, experiences and goals, while also building a trusting therapeutic relationship. Together, we can begin to identify what you would like to work on and consider the most helpful approach.
There is no expectation that you have to talk about everything straight away. We can take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and the focus will be on creating a safe and collaborative foundation for our work together.
As therapy progresses, we will continue to reflect on how the work is helping and adapt our approach where needed. If EMDR is appropriate, we will make sure there is a strong foundation of safety and emotional stability before beginning trauma processing.

About me and my therapy practice
Marriage, Couples and Relationship issues
Creating a safe and non-judgemental space in which couples can talk and investigate their relationship is essential. I have had extensive couples training to achieve this. Couples sessions are built around exploration of your issues backed up by agreeing specific tasks to be completed in between sessions.
I often find that the key to success lies in finding the right way to communicate – both within the counselling environment and outside it. Problems may seem insurmountable, deadlocks may seem unbreakable but if we are able to listen to each other properly and respect each other's points of view, compromises and clarity can be reached.

About me and my therapy practice
Individual & Group Supervision
My style of supervision is consultative. I provide a space for you, whether you are a counsellor, psychotherapist or an allied professional to bring your client load, and consult with me about that work.
I aim to provide a compassionate, supportive environment which values curiosity and kindness. My intention is to provide a space where you can feel free to explore your work in a non-judgemental way.
As an integrated counsellor and psychotherapist, I follow the Hawkins and Shohet 7 eyed process model of supervision. I supervise contractually and relationally and work creatively and utilise objects, materials, worksheets, whiteboard as well as using metaphor. I hold in mind the three functions of supervision as outlined by Proctor. Namely; the formative, (educational) normative (ethical issues, the 'norms' of the profession and possible legal issues) and most importantly restorative (the effect of the work on the supervisee, personal issues, workload, time management and stress).
I value highly my one-to-one work with my supervisees, however group supervision has its' own benefits, including peer feedback and a multi layered approach to personal and professional development.
Supervision is available to both individuals and groups and contracts can be arranged on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, depending on your caseload.
Practice description
Supervision Practice Description
I offer integrative, relational supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists, providing a supportive, reflective and appropriately challenging space to explore clinical practice, professional development and the therapeutic relationship.
My approach is grounded in relational thinking, with an emphasis on understanding what happens between therapist and client, as well as what may emerge within the supervisory relationship. I work collaboratively with supervisees, recognising their individual experience, professional context and developing therapeutic identity.
I draw on Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model of supervision to support a broad and multi-dimensional exploration of the work. This enables us to consider different aspects of the therapeutic process, including the client, therapist, therapeutic relationship, wider systemic context and the parallel processes that may emerge within supervision. I use the model flexibly rather than prescriptively, adapting the focus according to the needs of the supervisee and the clinical material.
I aim to create a supervision relationship characterised by trust, openness, curiosity and psychological safety, where supervisees can bring uncertainty, challenges, stuckness and areas of concern without fear of judgement. Alongside reflection on clinical work, I support supervisees to consider ethical practice, boundaries, risk, difference and diversity, and their ongoing professional development.
My role is to help supervisees deepen their awareness, develop confidence in their clinical judgement and remain attentive to the needs and wellbeing of their clients. I value supervision as a collaborative process that supports both practitioner development and safe, ethical and effective therapeutic practice.
My first session
Our First Supervision Session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin developing a trusting and collaborative supervision relationship. I see this initial meeting as an important foundation for our ongoing work together, allowing us to explore what you are looking for from supervision and how I can best support you in your practice and professional development.
We will discuss your experience, current practice, areas of interest and any particular hopes or concerns you may have about supervision. We will also explore how you prefer to work, what helps you feel supported and appropriately challenged, and how we can create a space where you feel able to bring clinical material openly and honestly.
I will explain my approach to supervision, including my relational use of Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model, and we can consider how this might support our work together. We will also discuss practical and ethical aspects of supervision, including confidentiality, boundaries, record keeping, safeguarding and professional responsibilities.
Most importantly, I want our first session to feel like the beginning of a genuine working relationship. I aim to create a space that is welcoming, curious and non-judgemental, while also offering thoughtful challenge where this can support your learning and development.
By the end of our first session, we will hopefully have a clearer sense of how we can work together and what you need from our supervision relationship.
