About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP registered and accredited counsellor with over 13 years of professional experience, including roles in Service Management, Clinical Supervision, and Couples Therapy.

My training includes the IAPT modalities Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). PCE-CfD is a person-centred approach designed to support people experiencing depression, while IPT is a structured, time-limited therapy that focuses on areas such as relationships, grief and loss, life transitions, and social functioning.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on different therapeutic approaches and tailor my work to meet your individual needs. I believe therapy should feel personal and collaborative, and I will work alongside you to find the approach that best supports you.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and it often takes courage to begin exploring change. My aim is to offer a warm, open, and supportive space where you can talk freely about your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing and work towards greater understanding, self-compassion, and wellbeing.

Practice description

I offer face-to-face therapy in a cosy, comfortable therapy room that overlooks a peaceful garden. It’s a calm and private space designed to help you feel safe, relaxed, and able to talk at your own pace.

There is plenty of private gated parking available, and the practice is easy to reach — just a ten-minute walk from the train station and a two-minute walk from the nearest bus stop.

If you would prefer to meet remotely, I also offer online therapy sessions through a secure video platform, so you can access support from wherever feels most comfortable for you.

Telephone sessions are also available if you feel that would suit you better.

I also have a very small and gentle dog who is sometimes present in the therapy room. She usually sleeps quietly during sessions and many clients find her calming to have nearby. However, she can easily be taken out of the room if you would prefer a dog-free space.

My first session

Before our first session, I will give you a brief phone call to carry out a short assessment. This helps me learn a little more about you and what has brought you to therapy, and it gives us an opportunity to begin thinking about how we might work together.

During this call, I will also explain my responsibilities and professional obligations as a therapist, so you can feel reassured about how I work and what you can expect from our sessions.

The aim is to help you feel comfortable and informed before we begin, and to ensure that we can work together in a way that best supports your needs.

Once you have decided to engage in therapy with me, I will send you my written contract for you to read at your leisure giving you the opportunity to contact me with any questions or queries before we begin work together.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Clinical Supervisor (Diploma in Clinical Supervision, Sherwood Psycho-therapy Training Institute), offering supervision to counsellors at all stages of development. I provide a reflective, supportive space within clear boundaries, working one-to-one online, face-to-face, or in a hybrid format.

My approach is Humanistic Integrative, and I adapt my supervision style to suit your individual needs, experience, and modality. I aim to offer a collaborative and encouraging environment that supports both your professional practice and personal growth. If you are working towards BACP accreditation, I can support and guide you through the process.

I have experience in a managerial role within a large national counselling charity, providing supervision to counsellors, both individually and in groups. I currently work as a Clinical Supervisor within an NHS IAPT service alongside my private practice.

I believe there is always potential for growth, whatever your level of experience, and I will work alongside you to support this. My approach draws on educative, supportive, and managerial aspects of supervision, depending on what you need.

As an Accredited Member of the BACP, I adhere to the Ethical Framework for the Counsel-ling Professions. My work is regularly supervised by an experienced BACP and UKCP-registered supervisor.

My first session

The initial consultation lasts around 30 minutes and offers a welcoming, relaxed space for us to meet and get a sense of one another. It’s an opportunity to begin building a connection and to explore whether working together feels like a good fit.

You’re invited to share your supervision needs, hopes, and expectations, and to ask any questions you may have, so you can decide whether I feel like the right supervisor for you at this stage of your journey.

If we choose to continue, we will gently begin shaping our work together by agreeing a clear and supportive framework for supervision. This includes our contract, confidentiality, boundaries, and accountability, all grounded in the ethical frame-work, while honouring your individual way of working and keeping your clients’ wellbeing at the heart of the process.

I offer flexible appointment times and will do my best to accommodate what works for you.
