About me and my therapy practice
Do relationships feel difficult, with you appeasing or withdrawing to feel safe? Do you mask feelings of not being good enough? Are mother or father wounds, or early childhood experiences, continuing to shape how you feel about yourself? Has a recent loss or bereavement left you feeling alone, sad or angry? Work and life may feel heavy and out of balance and you may find yourself using alcohol or food to manage feelings of overwhelm.
The people who come to me have already tried to think their way through things. There may be feelings of hopelessness, frustration, loneliness, guilt or despair, alongside a sense of wondering whether things will ever change.
I work relationally, meaning the relationship between us is central to our work. I help you put language to experiences and build on the wonderful skills you already have. Clients come with a backpack full and we work together to empty it. This is where change begins, where the Eureka moments happen.
I work with adult individuals, couples and twos.
Practice description
Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy
Experience shapes how you think, feel and relate. Learned ways of coping may once have supported you, yet in different environments they can be limiting or unhelpful.
By understanding your patterns, and implementing change, you will respond differently having more choice, clarity and self-trust.
Marriage, Couple Counselling and Twos Psychotherapy
People seek relationship therapy for three reasons:
1. To grow, repair or reconnect
2. To decide about a relationship
3. To explore separating amicably
I work with couples in options 1 and 2 only.
Relationship Counselling
We explore how learned patterns and past experiences affect your relationships.
Patterns can show up as communication difficulties, conflict, emotional distance, infidelity, resentment or disconnection.
You bring your own history, attachment patterns and ways of coping into a relationship, including responses such as fight, flight, freeze or fawn.
One may pursue, one withdraws. One is anxious, one avoids. Both people can be exhausted in these dances.
In therapy, we explore these patterns to help you understand yourself and the other person, improve communication and build a connection that feels authentic, secure and supportive.
Contact me if you want a calm, honest space to understand relationships, whether as an individual, couple or two.
Childhood Experiences
Early relationships shape how you see yourself, relate to others and learn to cope within the world. Self-protective patterns can continue into adulthood. In therapy, we explore them together.
Loss and Bereavement
Loss can bring loneliness, sadness, anger and a feeling that life has changed in a way you did not want. Therapy offers space to explore your feelings and what they mean for you.
Alcohol and Food
Alcohol or food can become ways of managing difficult feelings. In therapy, we explore what lies beneath your behaviours and consider other ways of responding to what you are experiencing.

About me and my therapy practice
Do relationships feel difficult with you appeasing or withdrawing to stay safe? Do you mask not feeling good enough? Do you carry mother or father wounding? Maybe you are experiencing loneliness or anger from a recent or historical loss or bereavement. Your work and life may feel heavy and out of balance. You may find yourself using alcohol or food to manage feelings that have become overwhelming.
If any of this sounds like you, read on.
Invariably it is an intelligent person who lands on my page who has already tried to think their way through their situation, leaving feelings of frustration, loneliness, guilt or despair as to why things will not shift.
Working relationally means the relationship between us is central to our work. I help you put language to experiences and build on the wonderful skills you already have, replacing ones that may be outdated. Clients come with a backpack full and we work together to empty it. This is where change begins, where true Eureka moments happen. I am not a blank screen counsellor. I am warm, compassionate, a cheerleader and real.
I work with individuals, couples + twos.
A popular dynamic for relationships is 'push pull' where one pursues and one withdraws. Also referred to as the anxious / avoidant dance. I simply call this 'crocodile and turtle'.
I am trained in Clarkson's Five Relationship Model with 10,000+ therapy hours. I am passionate about working with trainee counsellors beginning their journey.
I work from Alfold, near Cranleigh, in Surrey and Throwley, near Faversham, Kent. Both are tranquil settings where privacy is assured.
Single session therapy available.
First session complimentary for individuals + £50 for couples due to pre-assessment work. Bupa, AXA, Aviva, WPA + Vitality recognised.

About me and my therapy practice
Do relationships feel difficult, with you appeasing or withdrawing to feel safe? Do you mask feelings of not being good enough? Are you resentful about your life, perhaps due to childhood experiences or mother or father wounds? Perhaps you are experiencing loneliness, sadness or anger following a loss. Work and life may feel heavy and out of balance. You may find yourself using alcohol or food to manage overwhelm.
If any of this sounds familiar, I might be the therapist for you.
Often, the people who come to me have already tried to think their way through things. There may be feelings of hopelessness, frustration, loneliness, guilt or despair, alongside a sense of wondering whether things will ever change.
Understanding things intellectually does not always change how we feel or relate to others. Relationship dynamics can involve push and pull, pursuer and withdrawer, or superior and inferior patterns, where one person takes the high road while the other feels they have to appease. These patterns can fuel anger, sadness and feelings of not being good enough, leaving both people feeling alone and exhausted.
Working relationally means the relationship between us is central to our work. Together, we explore how you relate to yourself and others. I help you put words to your experiences, build on existing skills and find new ways to replace outdated patterns. I am not a blank screen counsellor. Clients describe me as warm, compassionate, encouraging and real.
I work with individuals, couples and twos. I am trained in Clarkson's Five Relationship Model and have over 10,000 hours of therapy experience. I am also passionate about providing private counselling for trainee counsellors.
I am recognised by Bupa, AXA, Aviva, Allianz, WPA and Vitality Health.
