About me and my therapy practice

Do relationships feel difficult with you appeasing or withdrawing to stay safe? Do you mask not feeling good enough? Do you carry mother or father wounding? Maybe you are experiencing loneliness or anger from a recent or historical loss or bereavement. Your work and life may feel heavy and out of balance. You may find yourself using alcohol or food to manage feelings that have become overwhelming.

If any of this sounds like you, read on.

Invariably it is an intelligent person who lands on my page who has already tried to think their way through their situation, leaving feelings of frustration, loneliness, guilt or despair as to why things will not shift.

Working relationally means the relationship between us is central to our work. I help you put language to experiences and build on the wonderful skills you already have, replacing ones that may be outdated. Clients come with a backpack full and we work together to empty it. This is where change begins, where true Eureka moments happen. I am not a blank screen counsellor. I am warm, compassionate, a cheerleader and real.

I work with individuals, couples + twos. The latter may find themselves in a push pull dynamic, one pursuing, one withdrawing, one anxious, one avoiding, both exhausted by the dance.

I am trained in Clarkson's Five Relationship Model with 10,000+ therapy hours. I am passionate about working with trainee counsellors beginning their journey.

Face to face from Alfold, near Cranleigh, Surrey, a south facing conservatory where tranquillity and nature come in. Online and telephone across the UK.

Single session therapy available.

First session complimentary for individuals + £50 for couples due to pre-assessment work.

Bupa, AXA, Aviva, WPA + Vitality recognised.

Practice description

Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy

Your experiences shape how you think, feel and relate. The ways of coping you developed may once have supported you yet may now feel limiting.

Therapy offers the opportunity for change. By understanding these patterns, you can begin to respond differently, with more choice, clarity and self-trust.

Marriage, Couple Counselling and Two’s Psychotherapy

People usually seek relationship therapy for one of three reasons:

1. To grow, repair or reconnect

2. To make a decision

3. To separate amicably

(Please note I work with options 1 and 2 only)

Relationship Counselling

We look at how learnt patterns and past experiences may be impacting your connection within your relationship.

These patterns can show up as communication difficulties, conflict, emotional distance, infidelity, resentment or a sense of disconnection.

Every relationship is co-created with each person bringing their own history, attachment patterns and ways of coping, including responses such as fight, flight, freeze or fawn.

In therapy, we explore these patterns so you can better understand one another, improve communication, and begin to rebuild connection in a way that feels more secure and supportive.

If you are looking for a calm, honest place focused on understanding relationships, whether as an individual, couple or two, do get in touch.
