About me and my therapy practice
I’m Emily, a counsellor and therapist with more than 15 years’ experience helping clients make sense of their experiences. My online practice allows me to work with individuals and relationships all over the world.
I specialise in supporting people with PMDD and those who are neurodivergent. I’m also qualified to support relationships that are affected by these experiences. Many of the people I work with are trying to make sense of things like intense emotional shifts, burnout, communication difficulties, or feeling disconnected from the people around them. I offer a relaxed, warm space to explore what’s going on and what might help things feel more manageable.
I know that finding the right therapist can feel like a lot when you already feel at capacity. I offer initial sessions so we can get a sense of whether we might be a good fit. It’s important to work with someone you feel comfortable with. If you’d like to see whether we might work well together, get in touch and we can arrange a time to talk.
Practice description
I offer a warm, compassionate and non‑judgemental style of counselling; it’s important to me that my clients feel safe, valued and understood. My practice is trauma informed, which means I am always aware that the traumas we have experienced can continue to shape our everyday lives.
Sessions with me are talking based. I offer a Person Centred space while drawing on approaches such as attachment theory, existential questions and solution focused work.
What this means in reality is that we look at what’s happening in the present, explore the parts of the past that still have an impact, and gently work out what to hold on to and what to let go of. We find ways to feel more grounded and steady, while discovering what changes might make life feel more manageable.
My first session
I offer either a free 15‑minute call to get a sense of each other, or an initial 30‑minute session for £35 where we can go into more detail. I’ll explain how I work as a therapist, and there’s space to talk about what has led you to seek therapy.
I encourage questions and I’m always open to hearing what works best for you. I will also explain my therapy contract and how payments work.
If we both feel we would work well together, we can book a first 50‑minute session where we begin to think about the things that have brought you to therapy.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Menopause, Mood disorder, Narcissism, Neurodiversity, Phobias, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Vegan allied, Women's issues, Work related issues
