About me and my therapy practice

I’m an accredited counsellor based in Ramsbottom, Bury, with over 18 years of experience supporting adults with anxiety, grief, overwhelm and difficult life changes.

I work with people who feel stuck, exhausted, or unable to cope  even if from the outside everything looks “fine”. You might be grieving, anxious, overthinking, struggling to switch off, or finding it hard to talk to anyone about how you really feel.

I offer face-to-face counselling in Ramsbottom and online therapy across the UK.

I am an Integrated Therapist and I am qualified to help you. I have accredited status with the BACP

Whether you are experiencing overwhelming circumstances, long-standing problems, or a general discontent with life, therapy is a good place to start working things out.

Does any of this feel familiar?

  • You feel unable to talk to anyone about how you’re feeling for fear of being judged or perhaps burdening them somehow.
  • You find the people around you minimise or are clumsy when you try to tell them what you are going through/feeling.
  • You worry that your problem, concern or difficulty is not ‘big enough’ or ‘serious enough’ to warrant help and support.
  • You are tired of putting a front on that everything is ok.
  • Anxiety is affecting your life.
  • You are overwhelmed in your professional or personal life.
  • You are sad/grieving and feel unable to cope.
  • There are too many demands on you.
  • A lot of changes happened in your life and you are struggling.

Isn't it strange that we sometimes talk the least about the things we think about the most?

I provide a confidential, non-judgmental space where we can build the trust needed for real change. I listen fully, but I don’t just listen, I work hard alongside you to find hope and practical solutions. I can help you move through distress and sadness toward a life that feels lighter and more manageable.

Practice description

I offer flexible therapy options to suit your lifestyle:

In-Person Counselling: My practice is located in a quiet, professional therapy room in Ramsbottom town centre. It is easily accessible for those living in Bury, Edenfield, and the Rossendale Valley.

Online & Telephone Counselling: I provide remote sessions via a secure platform for clients across the UK. Remote therapy is a popular, effective alternative if you prefer the comfort of your own home, have a busy schedule, or have mobility/childcare needs.

What to expect from my practice:

I provide a consistent, reliable space where you are the priority. Whether we meet in person in Ramsbottom or talk over a screen, my approach is the same: I am focused, empathetic, and committed to helping you find a way forward.

My first session

If you decide to book in with me we will have an initial full 50 minute appointment. This is so that you can talk about what is bringing you to counselling and what you hope to achieve and also allows me time to assess if I am the right person to help you. This also gives you time to decide if you want to work with me.

If you decide to go ahead with counselling:

  • Duration: I offer short-term (6–12 sessions) and long-term (open-ended) counselling.
  • Commitment: I usually encourage an initial commitment of 6 weeks. This allows time to build our relationship and gives me a clear understanding of your needs before we realistically evaluate the effectiveness of the therapy.
  • Schedule: Sessions are usually weekly on the same day/time; however, this can be negotiated if required.
  • Flexibility: Sometimes you may only want a one-off session or a very brief intervention; there is no long-term obligation.
