About me and my therapy practice
Hi there!
It's important that you know I have the qualifications, that, if fed into AI could make me look like the professional with experience you seek...I need to add I am "neuro-spicy" so in addition to the above I will "get you" in ways other therapists might not. That is hugely important, isn't it, in creating a great working relationship.
To some my way of working may be controversial but it is bound by the Ethical Framework of BACP and supported with continuing professional development
My authenticity and yours can move mountains. For this reason, in sessions, I allow people with mood swings to have mood swings
I allow someone hearing voices, to hear voices
I allow someone who didn't want to take anti-depressants, not take them
etc
I know I have not tried to fix people or help them become who I want them to become
And yet, this counselling has been transformative and life saving and life giving
All you need is love, non-judgement (plus training) It is person-centred therapy, unique to you.
That love, from me, required work, unveiling, looking at unconscious bias etc etc etc and the work on my side is ongoing, an ethical journey of continuing professional development.
Are you fed up of just not being heard? I am a therapist who will meet with you in person and not take notes as you are speaking.
Appt's can be made via text or e'mail. NO phone call is required
If you are intuitive you will sense that I will not judge you or lie to you. I want to empower you.
Reach out, I'm here
If you wake up in the morning and wish you hadn't, I get it. The last thing I will tell you to do is "chose to be happy" or "pull yourself together" or "learn this technique and you'll be ok" This is absolutely not the way I work.
If you want to talk about what others would call "weird" you can do it in a safe space with me
I believe in healing. I have experienced healing. I want to share that with you.
You matter, but I reckon you don't see that at the moment, but know it is one of my core values.
Practice description
Hello,
from the moment you read this I hope you no longer feel alone.
I'm here to listen in ways that other people haven't . You can trust me with things you've never been able to tell anyone.
I'm here for you
As a PRESENCE-CENTRED therapist I approach assessment avoiding psychiatric diagnosis....replacing "what is wrong with you?" with "what has happened to you?"
Central to the process of healing will be our working relationship and the comfort and trust you feel so you can reveal things you have kept to yourself forever.
Among this incredible relational journey we can both openly speak of "unshared truths" how you and I feel in relation to each other, this often reflects how you feel in relation to and with others
Another important aspect of the work is the dissolution of the ego. Roles, ambitions, hopes, beliefs, achievements, status, possessions and even other people are the building blocks of the ego. When enough of them are stripped our identity collapses, This can be a devastating experience, but you will be "held" safely within the BACP ethical framework and coming through you will discover the process has been liberating and like a re-birth
Time and time again, I've discovered a latent higher self that emerges in my clients and establishes itself as their new identity.
Ever wondered what the "authentic self" really means? It is this. It is the person you were always meant to be.
please feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions

MBACP BA Couns Here To Listen Counselling UK, Caroline Armes
My first session
We will meet to see if we will create a great therapeutic working relationship, if we are a fit
We will meet outdoors in all weathers in safe, confidential but not isolated spaces
My core concepts are non-judgement, empathy and congruence and I have a core belief that you matter and healing is a real thing....I reckon you might not even understand those words as they are a bit "counsellor speak" !!
I'm happily a bit different, a bit quirky, honest, fun, spiritual and sensitive.
I've been to some dark places myself and , you won't want to hear this now...but it was a blessing in disguise.
