About me and my therapy practice

I am a trauma informed psychotherapist based in Glasgow, working with adults who are experiencing burnout, anxiety, emotional overwhelm or the ongoing impact of difficult or traumatic experiences.

Many of the people I work with are capable, thoughtful individuals who are used to managing a great deal. Outwardly they may appear to be coping well, while internally they feel increasingly exhausted, stuck or overwhelmed.

Therapy can offer a calm, confidential space to explore what is happening beneath the surface and begin to process experiences that may still be affecting the present.

My approach is collaborative, respectful and carefully paced. I work relationally while also offering EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), a well-established therapeutic approach that helps people process distressing memories and reduce the emotional intensity they continue to carry.

I have a particular interest in the effects of sustained stress and the way our nervous system responds to pressure over time. Many clients come to therapy when stress, responsibility or earlier experiences begin to feel harder to manage.

Alongside processing past experiences, we may also focus on developing emotional regulation skills to support greater stability and resilience.

I work with clients experiencing:
• Trauma and difficult life experiences
• Burnout and chronic stress
• Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
• The ongoing impact of unresolved memories
• Difficulties with emotional regulation

Sessions are available both in person on the south side of Glasgow and online across the UK.

Alongside my clinical practice, I also provide workplace wellbeing workshops for organisations seeking to better understand burnout, stress and emotional regulation in professional environments.

If you are considering therapy, you are very welcome to get in touch to discuss what you are looking for and whether working together might feel helpful.

Practice description

My practice offers a calm, confidential space where clients can explore difficult experiences, emotional strain or periods of sustained stress. Many of the people who come to therapy are thoughtful, capable individuals who have spent a long time managing on their own before deciding to seek support.

I work in a collaborative and respectful way, recognising that each person’s history and pace are different. Some clients arrive with a clear understanding of the difficulties they are facing, while others may simply feel overwhelmed, stuck or exhausted without fully knowing why. Therapy provides an opportunity to slow things down, make sense of these experiences and begin to move forward in a more stable and supported way.

My practice is trauma-informed and I offer both relational psychotherapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). EMDR is a well-established therapeutic approach that can help people process distressing or traumatic memories so that they no longer carry the same emotional intensity or impact in everyday life.

Alongside processing past experiences, I also place importance on emotional regulation and understanding how the nervous system responds to stress and pressure. Many clients benefit from developing practical ways to stabilise their internal responses while engaging in deeper therapeutic work.

Clients come to my practice for a range of reasons including trauma, anxiety, burnout, chronic stress and the ongoing impact of unresolved experiences. Some are seeking support with recent events, while others wish to address patterns that have been present for many years.

Sessions are available in person on the south side of Glasgow as well as online across the UK. I aim to offer a thoughtful, steady therapeutic relationship where clients can feel supported as they work through difficult material and develop greater resilience and self-understanding.

My first session

Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step, and it is very common to feel uncertain or nervous about a first session.

The initial meeting is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other and to explore what has brought you to therapy.

During this first session, I will invite you to talk about the difficulties you are experiencing and what you are hoping might change or improve.

Some people arrive with a clear sense of what they would like to work on, while others may simply know that something does not feel right. Both are completely welcome starting points.

We may also spend some time discussing relevant background information such as significant life experiences, current stresses and any previous support you may have received.

This helps build a fuller understanding of your situation and what might be most helpful moving forward.

The first session is not about having to tell your whole story immediately or going into detail about traumatic experiences. Therapy develops gradually and at a pace that feels manageable for you. Establishing a sense of safety and trust is an important part of the process.

If it feels appropriate, I may explain how approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) could be used as part of the work. However, the focus of the first session is primarily on understanding your needs and deciding together how therapy might best support you.

You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions about how I work, the practical aspects of therapy, or what future sessions might look like.

By the end of the session we can reflect together on whether it feels like a good fit and discuss possible next steps.
